Inua Jamii Kenya is a programme the under State Department for Social Protection, Ministry of Labour & Social Protection.
Inua Jamii is a cash transfer programme running 3 projects which are:
i. Older Persons Cash Transfer (OPCT)
ii. Persons with Severe Disability Cash Transfer (PWSD)
iii. Orphans & Vulnerable Children Cash Transfer (OVCT)
Its mandate is to facilitate the implementation and management of the Consolidate Cash Transfer to Older person of 70 years and above, Orphans and Vulnerable Children and Persons with severe disability.

PS Joseph M. Motari CBS, on Wednesay 13/5/2026 presided over the Pilot for Proof of Life exercise for Inua Jamii beneficiaries in Ilbisil, Kajiado Central Sub-County. The exercise aims to strengthen accountability and improve service delivery through biometric registration.
The nationwide exercise is scheduled to begin in June to end of July 2026. All beneficiaries MUST present themselves at designated biometric capture centres with their National ID cards. More information will be provided.

Government releases Kshs. 2.4B for 1,213,066 beneficiaries in the Inua Jamii programme This covers the April 2026 payment cycle. Payment began 30/4/2026.

Government disburses March 2026 CT-OVC Programme Payment to 430,198 beneficiaries

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, through the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs, has disbursed Kshs. 2,426,278,000 for the payment of 1,213,139 beneficiaries under the Inua Jamii Programme, comprising Older Persons and Persons with Severe Disabilities. The payment covers the March 2026 payment Cycle.
To access funds beneficiaries are advised to dial *222 # Select Inua Jamii then follow prompt to withdraw at Agent or transfer funds to their number. Payment commenced on Tuesday 31st March 2026 and each beneficiary will receive Kshs. 2000.
Mr. Moses Kamau, Director, Directorate of Social Assistance, conducted spot checks at Mathare Vocational Training Centre, where he engaged with older persons and caregivers of persons with disabilities to obtain feedback about the programme.

Government releases Ksh 1.7B as payment for 430,998 beneficiary households under the Cash Transfer for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (CT-OVC) Programme. The payment covers the January and February 2026 Payment Cycles.
Each beneficiary household will receive Ksh 4000 hence a DOUBLE payment. Payment will commence on Friday 6th March 2026.
