The distribution of these seedlings is expected to significantly boost productivity, enhance household incomes, and promote sustainable agricultural development across the region.
By empowering farmers with quality inputs, this program not only advances food security but also positions the South rift Region as a hub for commercial pineapple farming and economic growth.

Later, I flagged off the distribution of fertilizer at the Bomet Sotik Depot, a strategic initiative set to serve the wider Western region in readiness for the forthcoming long rains season. This milestone reaffirms the government’s unwavering commitment to providing timely and affordable farm inputs, empowering farmers to boost productivity, safeguard national food security, and accelerate inclusive rural prosperity.
In the afternoon, I had the honor of commissioning a water project at Kapcholyo School and the surrounding community, a transformative investment that expands access to safe and clean water. This project not only enhances the health and well-being of learners and residents but also fortifies resilience against waterborne diseases, uplifts community dignity, and advances sustainable development across the region.
Together, these initiatives embody the spirit of the BETA Agenda—driving agricultural transformation, strengthening community infrastructure, and ensuring that every household has the tools to thrive. Today I led a Farmers’ Field Day on coffee planting sensitization at Koita, Sotik Sub-County, hosted by the area MP, Hon. Francis Sigei , where we engaged farmers on modern techniques designed to enhance productivity, sustainability, and market competitiveness. To reinforce their efforts, I donated 100 kilograms of certified coffee seeds to the farmers’ cooperative—an investment in quality inputs that will improve crop standards, increase yields, and expand opportunities for better incomes.
Earlier in the morning, I met with Mama mbogas in Chebole Market, recognizing their indispensable role in sustaining households and driving local economies. To support their daily work, I distributed umbrellas to shield them from the scorching sun and unpredictable rains, a practical gesture that underscores our commitment to easing their hustle and strengthening their resilience.
These engagements are a clear demonstration of the BETA Agenda, which is anchored on empowering farmers with resources and knowledge, uplifting small-scale traders who form the backbone of our economy, and building resilient communities that thrive despite challenges. Through these actions, we continue to shape a future where farmers prosper, traders flourish, and communities grow stronger together.

Today, I joined Head of Public Service Hon. Felix Koskei and faithfuls at St. Francis Katanin Catholic Church, Ndalat, Mosop, Nandi County, for a spiritually uplifting Mass led by Bishop Kiplimo Lelei, followed by a fundrive to support the church’s development projects. The fellowship brought together national and county leaders in unity and service, including Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen , Nandi Governor Stephen Sang , Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot,Deputy Governor Nandi county- Dr. Yulita Chebotip Cheruiyot , Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang (Immigration & Citizen Services), as well as legislators Hon. Later, I joined family,leaders, friends, and mourners at Kipyemit Village in Kipkelion East Constituency, Kericho, to bid farewell to the late Mama Margaret Tabutany Cherono Nyorgi. A revered community elder, Mama Margaret’s wisdom, integrity, and exemplary character guided society toward upholding moral values. She was a devout Christian whose unwavering faith and service left behind a lasting legacy of virtue and compassion.
We pray that the Almighty God grants her family and the people of Kipkelion East strength, comfort, and fortitude to endure this profound loss.
Among those present to honor her memory were Area MP Hon. Joseph Cherorot , Kericho County Speaker Dr.Patrick C Mutai , Nominated MCA Hon. Evaline Chumo, KNUT Executive Secretary Mr. David Bore, and many other leaders and community members.

This morning, I inspected Mama Mboga shops at Chepseon Market in Kipkelion East, Kericho, and engaged with traders on critical issues such as market infrastructure, value addition, access to affordable credit, and expanding opportunities for small-scale entrepreneurs. I was deeply impressed by the dedication and resilience demonstrated at the site—an affirmation of the Kenya Kwanza administration’s unwavering commitment to empowering grassroots businesses, strengthening food security, and ensuring that local traders are equipped to thrive in a competitive economy.
Anchored in the Singapore Dream and the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), this initiative builds resilience among micro-enterprises, promotes inclusive growth, and drives job creation. By investing in Mama Mboga and other small-scale enterprises, we are laying the foundation for a sustainable, self-reliant economy that reflects the aspirations of ordinary Kenyans while advancing the vision for agricultural transformation.

This morning, I had the distinct honor of attending the 14th Development Partnership Forum at the Deputy President’s Official Residence in Karen, co-chaired by H.E. Kithure Kindiki . The forum reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to deepening strategic alliances that advance our national priorities, including infrastructure modernization, social development, climate resilience, and digital innovation.
Present at the forum were Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon Musalia W Mudavadi , Head of Public Service Felix Koskei , alongside other distinguished leaders and representatives from the diplomatic and development community. Their presence underscored the collective determination to foster inclusive growth, strengthen governance, and position Kenya as a regional hub of stability and prosperity.

Later, accompanied by PS Abubakar Hassan (Investment) and hosted by County MP Hon. Muthoni Marubu , I visited Lamu County to launch modern edible oil pressing machines—an initiative designed to enhance value addition, create jobs, and empower local farmers. In Mpeketoni, we engaged with mama mboga traders and distributed over 200 sunproof market umbrellas to shield them from harsh weather as they conduct business. With Lamu recognized as Kenya’s leading producer of coconuts, the government has deliberately prioritized the region to strengthen agro‑processing, guarantee sufficient edible oil for local consumption, and unlock new pathways for export. These interventions not only uplift livelihoods but also position Lamu as a critical hub for agribusiness and trade, contributing to national food security and economic growth.

Today I led the flagging off of the nationwide fertilizer subsidy programme in Mombasa, dispatching three million 50‑kilogramme bags to key agricultural regions including Narok, Bomet, Nyamira, Kisii, Kericho, the North Rift, Bungoma, and Kakamega. This timely intervention will support farmers during the long‑rains planting season, ensuring they have the inputs needed for crops such as maize and tea. The programme will be scaled up to 12.5 million bags throughout the year to guarantee adequate supply, enhance productivity, and strengthen Kenya’s food security.
Flanked by PS Abubakar Hassan (Investment, Trade and Industry) and Dr. Bruno Linyiru (Director‑General, AFA Kenya ), underscoring the government’s united commitment to empowering farmers and safeguarding the nation’s agricultural prosperity.
