EQ Lunch 'n' Learn | Episode 35 | Navigating Fatherhood 04/07/2024

It was an engaging conversation in this EQ Lunch n' Learn. Key takeaways include the importance of men accepting that they don't have to conform to traditional Alpha male stereotypes, encouraging them to embrace their emotions despite societal expectations. The discussion highlighted the significance of fathers speaking up and seeking professional support to navigate fatherhood effectively. Additionally, focusing on self-care for mental well-being was emphasized, along with being mindful of coping mechanisms that fathers may default to. Watch the conversation for valuable insights and share your feedback. Thanks PTS Africa | The Emotional Intelligence Company and Mucha Mlingo ♦️Emotional Intelligence Coach♦️ for allowing me to host this conversation.

Cancer is draining. I have watched my good friend Nashon battle for his son for the last three years. It has been a rough journey to see a young boy’s life cut short through so much pain as he underwent treatment.
For those that have dealt with this monster you know how it drains every shilling you have. My appeal is that we come together and help raise funds to give Maxwell a good send off. No amount is too small as it will go a long way. We are at Kshs 60k for now so a deficit of 440k. Lets chip in and help.

Last weekend we set out to run the Standard Chartered Marathon. I had not been running as it was not my running month so I had chosen the virtual 10 km run and was looking forward to posting a sub 50min run. had registered for her first half marathon and was just about to begin at Uhuru gardens.
I had done my first km at 4:30 a very good pace. Just a few metres on I received the dreaded phone call from the hospital with my niece asking me to go to the hospital and come with dad too. She had spent the night with her grandmother and it was 6 am. I knew all was not well.
I called and asked her to leave Uhuru gardens and go to the hospital. We had lost mum a few minutes before 6 am. She had lost the fight with cancer despite fighting hard for the last year. Mum was a gem and we shall all truly miss her.
Today’s morning jog was in her honor. We may not have achieved our targets last week but it felt great to do the run. Thanks, for taking great care of her, especially in her last days.
As Christians, we are comforted that we shall meet her on the resurrection morning.
We thank you all for your prayers and support as we plan to lay mum to rest next week. We have seen big hearts and sacrifices even from those going through our experience. Thank you.

Calling out to my FB family to support my mum as she continues to receive treatment. No amount is too small as it will go a long way to assist. God bless you abundantly as you give.

A beautiful outing by the Adventist Women Ministries of SDA Church Lavington. I got to run competitively finishing 4th which wasn’t bad. I had wanted to run in under 1hr 50 min but managed 2hrs flat. However, I was happy with the pace. A good way to end the weekend as I recover. It was also great to have do her 10km in 1hr 16min great pace.

Handling Children with Vulnerability - Health Ministries Department || Adventist Sermon 30/05/2022

As part of the World Day of prayer for children I had the opportunity to moderate the panel discussing handling children with vulnerability. Key take out is all children are vulnerable by just the fact that they are children we need to ensure we know the challenges they are facing, be able to support them and take action to protect them.
