REF: CLARIFICATION ON THE POSITION OF TNA YOUTH CAUCUS IN THE IEBC DEBATE

Our attention has been drawn to a story published by The Star newspaper in which, a Mr. Abdi Yusuf alleges to communicate the position of TNA Youth Caucus in the ongoing debate about the disbandment of IEBC.

As the national chairman of the TNA Youth Caucus, I wish to inform all the Caucus members and the general public that Mr. Abdi Yusuf is neither a member of TNA and thus not a member of the Youth Caucus leave alone being a leader.

As a matter of fact, his statement is misleading, deceitful and ambiguous.

For avoidance of doubt, the position of the Jubilee Coalition on the IEBC debate remains as previously communicated.

In addition, we would like to express our disappointment with The Star newspaper for publishing an unverified story. We are therefore looking out for a public apology on the same.

The National Alliance Youth Caucus secretariat wishes to inform all Kenyans that all communication regarding party youth affairs can be accessed from the youth chair Mr. David Gitari or the Youth Director of Communications Mr. Alvan Kinyua via [email protected]

STATEMENT ON ALLEGED PARTY APPOINTMENT OF AN INTERIM CHAIRMAN OF THE TNA YOUTH LEAGUE
TUESDAY 18TH 2014, NAIROBI
Our attention has been drawn to press reports that the party has appointed a Mr. James Wanjohi as interim chairman of TNA youth league. We strongly advise against publication of such erroneous information.
We wish to clarify that while the Constitution of TNA does not provide for such an organ, the party has plans to initiate, in the Constitution, the model of a youth League to offer the necessary ground for leadership training, coaching, mentoring and a reliable platform for succession planning in our party.
It is on this basis that in the recent months, the party has been engaging young party members on the establishment of a youth league/caucus. The process is still ongoing with a working group constituted to spearhead the process expected to submit a report to the TNA Secretary General by the end of this month. The proposal shall be submitted to relevant party organs for consideration to establish the youth league. If the National Oversight Board and National Delegates Conference endorse the proposal, proper elections shall be conducted for the leadership of the youth.
At this time, the party emphasizes that it has not appointed anybody as an interim chairman of the TNA youth league.

Secretary General
Onyango Oloo
