Glaucoma often develops silently, but early detection can help prevent irreversible vision loss. Regular eye screening remains critical as global leaders prepare for the upcoming 2030 IN SIGHT LIVE International Conference in Nairobi to advance action on eye health and ending avoidable blindness.

NSDCC, led by Board Member Ms Ruth Bungei and in partnership with the County Government of Nandi, conducted a Triple Threat campaign at Kapsigilai Girls Secondary School to address new HIV infections, adolescent pregnancies, and sexual and gender-based violence among adolescents and young people. The event was graced by the Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service, Mr Felix Koskei, EGH. As part of the campaign, NSDCC provided HIV Testing Services (HTS), including counselling, and disseminated Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials and age-appropriate health information. The event brought together students, teachers, parents, community members, and partners to support learners and celebrate the achievements of the 2025 KCSE candidates.

NSDCC Citizen Service Charter outlines its commitment to transparent, accountable and people-centred service delivery. It sets clear standards, timelines and feedback mechanisms to ensure efficient services, while promoting public participation and continuous improvement.

Menstrual Hygiene Day wil be marked globally on 28 May 2026 under the theme “ ”, highlighting the importance of promoting menstrual health and hygiene and creating supportive environments where menstruation is managed with dignity, safety, and confidence.

Up to 80% of blindness and visual impairment cases are preventable or treatable through early screening, diagnosis, and timely care.

As Kenya prepares to host the 2030 IN SIGHT LIVE Conference in Nairobi, the focus remains on strengthening eye health systems and expanding access to quality eye care for all.
