The second day of the Regional hashtag Summit reinforced that resilience requires more than dialogue; it demands actionable evidence.

Leaders and participants called for policies anchored in data that reflect the realities of women and girls.

As the Summit enters its final day, the message is clear: turning evidence into policy is essential for inclusive growth and sustainable development.

Day 2 of the Regional Women in Data Summit 2025 advanced the theme “Accelerating Resilience for Women and Girls Through Better Data.”

The plenary underscored that environmental, economic, and social shocks continue to disproportionately affect women and girls, and called for stronger data systems to inform resilience strategies.

Governments, the private sector, and development partners highlighted how gender data can be harnessed to improve service delivery, safeguard women’s health, strengthen food systems, and secure the rights of informal and domestic workers.

Breakout discussions further emphasized that investment in women’s health, inclusive labour policies, and food security must be driven by evidence that reflects the lived realities of women and girls across Africa.

Lessons shared from India’s experience with women rice farmers illustrated how better data directly translates into sustainable livelihoods and inclusive growth.

The Summit continues to affirm that building resilience requires deliberate investment in gender data to guide decision-making, policy, and action at all levels.

As the Summit unfolds, participants are sharing compelling reflections on why accurate, inclusive, and transformative data matters.

From policy makers to grassroots leaders, the message is clear: without strong gender data, women risk invisibility in resource allocation and national planning.

These voices remind us that data is not neutral—it is a tool for equity, justice, and informed decision-making.

Day 1 of the Regional Women in Data Summit 2025 reaffirmed our shared responsibility to act with courage.

From government, private sector, academia, and grassroots voices, the call was clear: women’s realities must be visible, measured, and valued.

Yet commitments alone are not enough less than 0.5% of global aid goes to data, with gender data receiving even less.

To accelerate resilience in food security, health, trade, and public service delivery, we must invest sustainably, forge bold partnerships, and act decisively.

Day 1 illuminated the way forward; together, we must advance it.
