The Government continues to strengthen coordination across Ministries, Departments and Agencies, as well as county governments, to accelerate the implementation of national priorities, development projects and the delivery of better services to citizens.
This morning, I joined colleagues at the monthly PSs Meeting, chaired by Felix Koskei, Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service, at the Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST) in Konza Technopolis, Machakos County.
The choice of Kenya-AIST at Konza Technopolis as the venue reflects the Government’s commitment to advancing science, technology, innovation, and research as key drivers of economic transformation while positioning Kenya as a regional hub for higher learning, innovation, and cutting-edge scientific research.

Strong internal audit systems are critical in safeguarding public resources, improving service delivery and strengthening public confidence in Government institutions.
We are in the process of finalising the Draft Public Finance Management (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which seeks to strengthen the independence, professionalism and effectiveness of internal audit systems, while the Zero Fault Audit Initiative continues to promote a culture of compliance, accountability and excellence in public financial management.
Today at the National Treasury, I received the leadership of the Institute of Internal Auditors - IIA Kenya led by Ms. Lilian Wangechi (Chairperson) and Dr. Joyce Omina (CEO), who paid a courtesy call to discuss ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing internal audit functions across Government.
We will continue working closely with professional bodies and key stakeholders, including the Office of the Auditor-General, to strengthen governance systems, enhance transparency and promote accountability in the management of public resources.
I was joined by Dr. Sammy Kimunguyi, the Internal Auditor-General at the National Treasury.

The African Trade and Investment Development Insurance (ATIDI) continues to play a critical role in promoting trade, investment, and economic development across the continent through innovative risk-mitigation and investment-support solutions.
As a founding Member State of ATIDI and host of its headquarters since its establishment in 2001, Kenya remains committed to supporting the institution’s mandate and strengthening regional economic integration.
Today, I met with Mr. Manuel Moses, Chief Executive Officer of ATIDI, who briefed me on the preparations for the 26th ATIDI Annual General Meeting (AGM), which Kenya will host from 30th June to 3rd July 2026 in Nairobi.
The AGM will provide an important platform for strengthening partnerships, promoting trade and investment, and advancing Africa’s shared development agenda, while also showcasing Kenya’s position as a regional financial and investment hub.

The late Eng. Anne Jepkokei Cheboi lived a life defined by service, leadership and a deep commitment to uplifting others.
Throughout her career and community engagements, she inspired many young people, particularly girls pursuing careers in science, technology and engineering. She was also an integral member of the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP), where she made a significant contribution to environmental conservation and community empowerment initiatives.
Personally, I have lost a friend and a relative who served as my deputy in our larger family. Her warmth, generosity and commitment to others will remain a lasting inspiration to many of us.
Today, I joined her family, friends and colleagues at Illula, Ainabkoi, Uasin Gishu County, for her final send-off.
We celebrate a life well lived, marked by professionalism, compassion, resilience and an unwavering desire to make a positive difference in society.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.

The Mau Forest Complex is one of Kenya’s most vital natural resources and the largest afro-montane forest ecosystem in East Africa. As the country’s largest and most important water tower, it provides critical ecological services. It is the source of 12 major rivers that drain into Lake Victoria and eventually flow through the Nile Basin.
This invaluable natural resource must be protected and conserved for present and future generations. Today in Nairobi, I joined my colleague, Dr. Eng. Festus Ngeno (PS Secretary Environment & Climate Change) and other stakeholders in committing to the conservation and restoration of the Mau Forest.
The forest supports livelihoods for communities within its ecosystem, sustains biodiversity and contributes to national development. Its restoration is also critical to achieving Kenya’s ambitious target of planting 15 billion trees by 2032.

The Government is committed to supporting our content creators and the creative economy to ensure young people continue to benefit from their talents, innovation and enterprise.
Earlier today, TEAM STRONG comedians led by Arap Uria and his colleagues paid a courtesy call on me at the National Treasury ahead of their upcoming event scheduled for 7th June 2026.
They continue to use creativity and talent to entertain, educate and positively influence society. Their work has earned recognition both locally and internationally through digital content creation and comedy.
I commend Team Strong not only for creating impactful content but also for supporting vulnerable members of society through various community initiatives, especially by leveraging their platforms and opportunities to reach out to those facing medical challenges and other hardships.
