The Principal Secretary State Department for National Govt Coordination, Hon. Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim, today attended the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) Steering Committee Workshop, convened in preparation for the inaugural National Productivity and Performance Conference.
The workshop, now in its second day, brings together key stakeholders to shape the framework and agenda of a landmark national forum aimed at strengthening productivity and performance standards across the public service.
PS Ibrahimโs participation reaffirms the State Departmentโs commitment to building a high-performing, results-driven public service in line with the Governmentโs transformative agenda. ๐ฐ๐ช

This morning, senior officers from the State Department for National Govt Coordination National Government Coordination Secretariat (NGCS) conducted a verification exercise on digitization of Government services at the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy (MICDE).
The verification exercise established that MICDE has developed a framework for integration systems across all ministries. However, uptake has been slow with only 4 ministries having fully complied with the integration framework. It was agreed that ICT officers from the Ministry would continue supporting other MDAs to fast-track compliance.
The verification team was led by Advisor Coordination, Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Anne Olubendi, who was accompanied by Advisor Economic Affairs, Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Jamshed Ali, Director Planning, Leonard Kwinga, Director Delivery, Mathew Nyamwange, Director Communications, Andrew Teyie, and Deputy Directors Caroline Munga & Caroline Okello. Principal Secretary State Department for National Govt Coordination, Hon. Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim, this afternoon attended and participated in a multi-agency Steering Committee workshop convened to deliberate on the preparedness for hosting the National Productivity and Performance Conference, scheduled to take place in Nairobi from 17th to 19th June 2026.
Organized by the Salaries & Renumeration Commission, the main objective of the upcoming Conference is to address and align the national labor productivity with the aim of moving towards a results-driven public service, and enhanced economic transformation.

Principal Secretary State Department for National Govt Coordination, Hon. Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim, today joined senior government officials at the Second National Education Conference in Naivasha, Nakuru County, officially opened by His Excellency President Dr. William Samoei Ruto.
The conference brought together stakeholders in the education industry to take stock of the progress made, reflect candidly on the challenges that remain, and renew collective resolve to transform education into the greatest driver of national development.
Key agenda items included the ongoing review of the Competency-Based Education system, the student-centred funding model in higher education, efficient provision of bursaries, and the establishment of comprehensive schools spanning early childhood to senior school level.
Taking to the podium during the afternoon session of the Second National Education Conference in Naivasha, PS Ibrahim took a moment to recognize and celebrate the teaching profession.
The PS extended warm congratulations to teachers across the country for their dedication, hard work and the invaluable contribution they continue to make to the Kenyan society. He acknowledged that teachers are the backbone of national development, shaping the minds and futures of generations of Kenyans. Principal Secretary State Department for National Govt Coordination, Hon. Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim, had the honour of delivering a speech and making a key presentation on the Performance Contracting process at the 3rd Annual Regulatory Authorities and Agencies Conference, held at the South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) Main Campus, Kwa Vonza, in Kitui County.
Drawing from past results, the PS highlighted the progress made under the Performance Contracting Framework and called on all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to embrace a Whole-of-Government approach in the ex*****on of their mandates. He emphasized that cohesion, accountability and shared purpose across all arms of Government are key to driving the results Kenyans expect and deserve.
PS Ibrahim also made reference to the Draft Performance Contracting Bill, signaling the next legislative step in entrenching a culture of accountability across Government. Looking ahead to the next evaluation phase, the PS challenged every MDA, to raise the bar, align their work to national priorities, and strive for excellence in performance as a collective commitment to serving the public.

Principal Secretary State Department for National Govt Coordination, Hon. Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim, today attended the 3rd Annual Regulatory Authorities and Agencies Conference, that was held at the South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) Main Campus, Kwa Vonza, in Kitui County.
The event was officially opened by the Deputy President H.E. Prof. Kithure Kindiki, under the theme โConsistent Measurement and Evaluation of Real Regulatory Impact on the Ground.โ
PS Ibrahim joined the Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei, fellow Principal Secretaries, and senior state officials at the Conference, that brought together Chairpersons and Board members of Kenyaโs 127 regulatory authorities and agencies in a high-level engagement, anchored on the Governmentโs commitment to service delivery, protection of livelihoods, and a fair, predictable environment for all Kenyans.
Aligned with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), the Conference underscored the imperative for regulatory bodies to reduce risks, improve compliance, enhance fairness, lower the cost of doing business, and ultimately improve the quality of life for all Kenyans. ๐ฐ๐ช

The Principal Secretary, State Department for National Govt Coordination, Hon. Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim, this afternoon chaired a technical follow-up meeting on the implementation framework for the Nairobi Metropolitan Police, pursuant to H.E. the Presidentโs briefing regarding the 'Nairobi Rising' Cooperation Agreement between the National Government and the Nairobi City County Government (NCCG).
The technical team from the Office of the Inspector General presented on the proposed structure, formation, and operational framework of the Nairobi Metropolitan Police, including collaboration with the Nairobi City County Government (NCCG) Enforcement Directorate.
The session underscored alignment between national and county security architecture with the objective remaining to transform the Capital through improved infrastructure and sanitation.

This morning, Principal Secretary, State Department for National Govt Coordination, Hon. Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim, attended the 5th Implementation Committee meeting overseeing the 'Nairobi Rising' Cooperation Agreement between the National Government and the Nairobi City County Government (NCCG).
The meeting was convened by Nairobi Governor, H.E. Sakaja Johnson EGH, to appreciate the progress made so far, as well as review and speedup interventions on priority areas.
Key focus areas remain to transform Nairobi City through improved infrastructure and sanitation with key areas of focus including water, sewage, roads, and waste management. ๐ฐ๐ช

Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.

In his remarks, PS Ibrahim emphasized on his State Department's critical role of coordinating key programs and projects to the grassroots ensuring that every Kenyan, in every corner of the country, feels the impact of Government.

This morning, the State Department for National Govt Coordination Tree Growing and Restoration Committee members led by Secretary Administration Mr. Abednego Etyang', representing Principal Secretary Hon. Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim, and joined by the local community, participated in a tree planting exercise at the scenic Ngong Hills.
This exercise is in line with the Presidential directive to grow 15 billion trees. It is aimed at countering climate change and safeguarding the environment for today and future generations.
"Each seedling planted is a step toward cleaner air, healthier ecosystems, and enhanced biodiversity. It is also a reminder that environmental conservation is not a one-day activity, but a continuous commitment that requires collective responsibility," echoed Mr. Etyang'.
He urged the team and members of the local community to continue working together to nurture the environment and champion sustainable practices for the benefit of all citizens. ๐ฐ๐ช
