Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs Hon. Musalia Mudavadi has arrived in Seoul, South Korea to attend the Korea-Africa Foreign Ministers' Meeting scheduled for May 31st to 2nd June, 2026.
The summit brings together representatives from 54 African countries and four regional organizations as Seoul seeks to deepen economic ties, diversify supply chains and strengthen cooperation on global challenges.

he State Department for Foreign Affairs today celebrated its Annual Staff Wellness Day at the Kenya Public Service Club in Nairobi.
Led by Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, the Wellness Day brought together staff to reflect on the importance of physical, mental and financial wellbeing in strengthening Kenyaโs Foreign Service and enhancing service delivery.
Dr. Mudavadi described the annual wellness initiative as an important institutional tradition that reinforces resilience, cohesion and effectiveness within the Foreign Service. He noted that investing in the wellness and resilience of the workforce remains critical in strengthening Kenyaโs diplomatic service and advancing national interests across the world.
โWork-related stress often manifests silently, affecting individuals who continue to serve with dedication despite personal challenges,โ he observed.
He encouraged staff to fully utilize available counselling and psychosocial support services while fostering a workplace culture that promotes openness, empathy and mutual support.
โEven a simple conversation or act of empathy can make a meaningful difference in strengthening resilience within the workplace,โ he said.
Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Korir SingโOei, also encouraged staff to make use of the office wellness programmes and support systems established to help address work-related challenges. He urged officers to reflect on the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance for efficient and effective service delivery.
Dr. SingโOei also recognized and awarded retirees who concluded their service under the State Department for Foreign Affairs, applauding them for their dedication and invaluable contributions toward advancing the Ministryโs mandate and achieving its goals.

KENYA FLAGS OFF ICT TALENT TEAM FOR GLOBAL COMPETITION IN CHINA
The Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs H.E. Musalia Mudavadi officially flagged off 12 outstanding students and lecturers who will represent Kenya at the Huawei ICT Competition 2025โ2026 Global Final in Shenzhen, China.
The Huawei ICT Competition 2025โ2026 attracted more than 220,000 participants from over 2,000 universities and colleges across 100 countries and regions, making it one of the worldโs largest platforms for nurturing ICT talent.
From the Southern Africa region, Kenya emerged strongly, securing three top positions and qualifying three teams for the global finalsโunderscoring the countryโs growing reputation in ICT innovation and digital skills development. FOREIGN SERVICE ACADEMY COMMENCE PRE-DEPLOYMENT TRAINING
The Foreign Service Academy has commenced a three-week pre-departure training programme for newly posted Heads of Missions and Foreign Service Officers ahead of their deployment to various Kenyan diplomatic missions abroad.
During the opening ceremony, Acting Director-General Ambassador Patrick Wamoto urged the officers to remain adaptive, strategic, and results-oriented, noting that they are being deployed at a time when diplomacy has become increasingly complex in a rapidly evolving global environment marked by shifting geopolitical alliances, intensified competition among major powers, and growing pressure on the rules-based international order. .

Amb. Kiptiness Lindsay received the EAC flag during the official opening of the 14th EAC Armed Forces Command Post Exercise (CPX) named USHIRIKIANO IMARA 2026, currently underway in Nairobi, where he will serve as Head of Mission. The Command Post Exercise brings together participants from five EAC Member States comprising of the Republic of Burundi,the Federal Republic of Somalia,the Republic of Rwanda,the Republic of Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania
Amb. Kiptiness received the flag from Kenyaโs Vice Chief of the Defence Forces, Lieutenant General John Omenda. The symbolic handover signifies unity, cooperation and the shared commitment of EAC Partner States to safeguarding regional peace and stability.
The exercise has brought together military, police and civilian components from across the region to strengthen preparedness and enhance joint operational capabilities in Peace Support Operations, Counter Terrorism, Counter Piracy and Disaster Management through coordinated training, command post drills and scenario-based simulations.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, EAC Deputy Secretary General Aguer Ariik Malueth said peace, security and unity remain fundamental pillars for the success and integration of the East African Community.
Lieutenant General John Omenda reaffirmed the importance of collective security and regional collaboration in advancing peace, stability and resilience across the region.
During a reception held for participants of the exercise, Ambassador Kiptiness called on EAC member states to continue strengthening unity, cooperation and collective preparedness in addressing emerging threats, disasters and security challenges that may undermine regional peace and stability.

Officials from the University of Kabianga led by Council Chairperson Prof. Monari Mwebi and Vice Chancellor Prof. Erick Koech have held discussions with the management of the Foreign Service Academy led by Director General Amb. Patrick Wamoto and the Chairperson of the Foreign Service Academy Council Prof.Patrick Maluki.
The discussions focused on strengthening institutional collaboration in research, diplomacy training, academic exchange, and capacity building.
Both institutions explored opportunities for joint research initiatives aimed at advancing knowledge in international relations, foreign policy studies, and diplomatic practice, with a view to strengthening Kenyaโs foreign service expertise and enhancing global engagement.

On 12th May 2026, African nations and the French Republic adopted the Nairobi Declaration at the Africa Forward Summit โ a comprehensive framework spanning eleven pillars of cooperation, including peace and security, sustainable agriculture, resilient health systems, green industrialisation, the blue economy, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, and reform of the international financial architecture.
Grounded in the principles of mutual respect, sovereignty, and co-development, the affirms Africa as a full partner in production, innovation and global economic leadership.
Kenya is proud to have hosted this historic moment in defining Africa's future.
