International Day for Biological Diversity 2026

Biodiversity is our strongest safeguard in reducing and strengthening community .

Healthy such as forests, wetlands, mangroves, grasslands, and watersheds act as natural buffers against hazards including floods, droughts, landslides, storms, and coastal erosion.

RCMRD continues to champion “Nature for Resilience” through programmes such as the RRegional Centre of Excellence - RCoE and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), applying Earth Observation and technologies to build a future defined by resilient ecosystems, resilient societies, and resilient people. By restoring nature’s protective barriers, we do more than safeguard against disasters.
