The Low Emission and Climate Resilient Development is a Project by Ministry of
Environment Water and

The three year project will contribute towards the implementation of the
National Climate Change Action Plan (2013- 2017) which has the overarching goal of enhancing
low carbon climate resilient development blueprint –Vision 2030. The LECRD Project has six (6) outcomes namely:
Strengthen the national climate change coordination processes;

FINALLY WE HAVE IT, KENYA CROP AREA YIELD INDEX INSURANCE
Kenya Agriculture Insurance and Risk Management Program (KAIRMP) was yesterday by CS MOENRRDA, Prof. Judy Wakhungu on behalf of CS MALF, Mr. W***y Bett. The Programme for March 2016 has been rolled in 3 counties Embu, Nakuru and Bungoma before expansion to 30 more counties with maize and wheat being the only crops being insured at the moment before other crops is adopted.

• Crop Area Yield Index Insurance (AYII) which uses historical crop yield data together with actual crop yields estimation through crop cutting methods.
• Target: Smallholder crops farmers; starting with maize and wheat
• Insurance delivered through PPP arrangements

GOOD NEWS TO FARMERS IS THE GOK, SUBSIDIZES HALF THE PREMIUM TO HELP BUILD FARMERS RESILIENCE AND STABILIZE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION
