Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency CRVWWDA is a water works development Agency in Kenya. It was established through Kenya Gazette Notice No. 4 dated 7thFebruary 2020.

Mandated to provide dependable water and sanitation infrastructure in Nakuru, Baringo, Laikipia, Nyandarua and Narok. The Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (CRVWWDA) is one of the nine (9) Water Works Development Agencies in Kenya and was formed under Section 65 of the Water Act, 2016. The region served by the Agency comprise of the five Counties of Nakuru, Narok, Laikipia, Baringo and Nyandarua. The four Counties of Nakuru, Narok, Baringo and Nyandarua were initially under the former Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (RVWWDA) while Laikipia County was under the Northern Water Works Development Agency (NWWDA).The RVWWDA had itself replaced the Rift Valley Water Services Board (RVWSB) that operated in seven Counties, namely, Turkana, West Pokot, Elgeyo/Marakwet,Nakuru, Narok, Baringo and Nyandarua under the Water Act, 2002. The Agency is a state Corporation under the Ministry of Water & Sanitation and Irrigation.

Today, the Agency led by Eng . Rachael Makokha representing the CEO, held the Kick-Off Meeting for Lot 3 of the Lake Nakuru Biodiversity Conservation Project, marking an important milestone towards the commencement of works.

The meeting brought together key project stakeholders to align on the project objectives, implementation approach, roles and responsibilities, and key timelines ahead of the start of works.

The engagement underscores the Agencyโ€™s commitment to effective coordination, stakeholder collaboration and successful implementation of the project.

Hon. Michael Muchira, MP for Ol Jorok Constituency, Nyandarua County, commissioned the Equator Primary School Borehole Water Project in Nyandarua County, in the presence of Director Beatrice Muchina, Board Member representing Nyandarua County in the Agency.

The project, implemented by the Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (CRVWWDA), is aimed at providing safe, reliable and sustainable water supply to the school and the surrounding community.

The project features a 190-metre-deep borehole with a tested yield of 21.18 mยณ/hr, a 6-metre steel tower with a 10,000-litre storage tank, water kiosk, pipeline extension, school water collection point, fencing and gate.

Today , the Agency, led by CEO CPA Douglas Murei, today hosted a delegation from the Ministry Of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, State Department for Water and Sanitation, alongside Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency, for a joint inspection of the Bometโ€“Mulotโ€“Longisa Water Supply Project in Bomet County.

The inspection provided an opportunity for the teams to assess the projectโ€™s progress, review implementation, and strengthen inter-agency collaboration towards the timely delivery of the project.

The project is jointly implemented by CRVWWDA and Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency, with funding from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Government of Kenya (GoK).

This project underscores the commitment of the implementing agencies and development partners to expanding access to reliable and sustainable water supply for communities across Bomet County.

H.E. Deputy Governor of West Pokot County, Robert Komolle, today flagged off an exhauster truck to Kapenguria Water and Sanitation Company (KAWASES), in the presence of the Agencyโ€™s CEO, CPA Douglas Murei.

The truck comes following the successful completion of the Kapenguriaโ€“Makutano Towns Sewerage Project and Chepareria Sewerage Project, implemented by the Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (CRVWWDA), with the North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency as the beneficiary Agency.

The two projects were jointly funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Government of Kenya (GoK) to improve sanitation infrastructure and services across West Pokot County.

The handover marks another milestone in strengthening wastewater management and ensuring sustainable sanitation services for the people of West Pokot.

CPA Douglas Murei, CEO, today conducted an inspection of the Kipkarren Dam Water Project and the Eldoret Last Mile Connectivity Project to assess the progress of ongoing works.

The inspection focused on reviewing implementation progress, addressing emerging challenges and ensuring that the projects are delivered within the stipulated timelines and to the required standards, in line with the Agencyโ€™s commitment to providing reliable water infrastructure to communities.

Day two in Baringo North Constituency, Baringo County, spreading smiles and, of course, bringing water closer to the people!.

Today, the Agency joined Hon. Joseph Makilap, MP for Baringo North, for the commissioning of the Lake Kamnarok Borehole Water Project in Barwesa Ward.

Implemented by the Agency, the project provides safe and reliable water to Lake Kamnorok Primary School and the surrounding community. The 110m-deep borehole has a yield of 9mยณ/hour, with 2no. Storage tanks with a capacity of 10,000-litre, water kiosk, pipeline extension and school water collection point and a cattle trough.

It was a great milestone that Hon. Joseph Makilap, MP for Baringo North Constituency, commissioned the Chumetโ€“Kipchar Water Supply Project, implemented by the Agency, marking a significant milestone in improving access to reliable water for residents of Barwesa Ward, Baringo North Constituency, Baringo County.

Hon. Makilap applauded the Agency for implementing the project within the stipulated timelines and urged the community to use the water efficiently and responsibly to ensure that the resource benefits all.

The project includes 14.5 kilometres of pipeline distribution, extending water services to Cherungu, KuiKui, Telan and Lower Maregut (Norok), alongside 100m3 and 25m3 masonry water storage tanks
