Our main challenge is to identify accountable loan-takers. We need role-models. If the team of operations also runs businesses, but benefit from loans, we have role-models who both see the challenges with being a loan-giver as well as a managing business finances.

HR&S Sweden establishes HR&S Local Branches in Sub-Sahara African countries. The Branches represents HR&S Sweden in the country, and develop relations with Institution managements, local authorities and other relevant stakeholders.

The Branches also manage RISE Centres, which provide support to local social entrepreneurs, researchers and innovators to offer their products and services to the local community.

RISE CENTRE MEMBERSHIP

Level ONE

RISE members pay a membership fee of EUR 50 per year and are entitled to:

Eligible for a business loan with 10% interest.
Loan takers have to present programme and financial reports of the first/previous loan, before being eligible for a second/next loan.

Support with solving well defined outcome challenges for the business.

Training on evaluation planning, survey management, business management, branding & public relations, accounting and accountability by local trainers. The training events are given bi-annually and in a general manner.

Yearly auditing.

State-of-the-art reviews on topics chosen by the member.

Monthly knowledge sharing sessions with an international community.

Free attendance to a yearly webinar on social enterprising.

Membership in a global network targeting social entrepreneurs in Sub-Saharan Africa.

HR&S research management workshops bring together scientific researchers, scientific institution management, users of scientific findings, innovators, and social entrepreneurs from Sub-Sahara Africa for lectures and discussions with the aim of providing opportunities for them to bring positive change and development. HR&S offers a transformational training package designed to inspire scientific stakeholders to become innovative change-makers. Scientific researchers are expected to develop creative capacity and acquire necessary skills to do research and implement research findings.

Global development stakeholders must come from a platform where we understand that we are all the same.

HR&S is an expert in handling such. HR&S is fast and flexible, we learn by mistake and we make informed decisions. This is not a straight path, because HR&S works with CHANGE, but every year and in every programme we make progress, sometimes small, sometimes big.

HR&S wants development institutions to be so impressed by what we are doing that they always want to collaborate with us. We do reach the underserved population and we do implement sustainable livelihood improvements.
