The first phase of the week-long leadership visitation to regional offices concluded today with productive engagements between the ORPP leadership and field teams in Isiolo, Nyeri, Nyahururu, and Nakuru.

The sessions provided an opportunity for the Registrar, Assistant Registrar, and senior management team to assess field-based service delivery models, review milestones achieved, and collaboratively explore strategies to strengthen stakeholder engagement and enhance services to citizens.

“You must continue remodelling ORPP services at the regional level and provide excellent support systems to all stakeholders, particularly citizens, in line with our commitment to decentralized service delivery,” emphasized Registrar J.C. Lorionokou during the visits.

Assistant Registrar CS Agatha Wahome commended the dedication of field officers and their efforts in implementing community-oriented programmes that benefit all citizens, including Special Interest Groups (SIGs). “Every region faces unique challenges, and we shall prioritize interventions that strengthen operations and improve service delivery,” she noted.

Regional Coordinators Mohamed Gulleid (Isiolo), Judy Gathoni (Nyeri), Charles Njagi (Nyahururu), and John Mwaura (Nakuru) highlighted key achievements and public engagement initiatives within their jurisdictions, demonstrating the transformative grassroots impact of ORPP services.

The engagements were attended by Director Compliance D.N. Kinuthia and Heads of Departments, including Jane Kamau (Administration), Damaris Mwendwa (HRM), Joshua Ngala (Field Services Coordination), Bob Waithaka (ICT), and Andia Khaseke (Internal Audit), alongside departmental and regional team members. The departmental heads reaffirmed their commitment to seamless coordination and timely support to regional offices in pursuit of exceptional service delivery.

The team also paid courtesy visits to neighbouring regional offices of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) IEBC and the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ)

Phase One of the leadership engagement programme also included earlier visits to the ORPP regional offices in Mombasa and Malindi, led by Coordinators Susane Mwaingo and Marjorie Okeyo, respectively.

The Regulations seek to operationalize section 34B that obliges the Registrar to establish a technology that is simple,secure, accurate and transparent for better management of political data and records.

The ORPPKenya leadership/Plenary has commenced engagement with field-based staffers in varied dates in May and June, to appreciate respective operations and assess specific needs of stakeholders at the regions. The visitations are part of ORPPKenya commitment to enhance its decentralized services to reach different parts of the country.

Registrar of Political Parties J.C. Lorionokou, commencing the visits in Malindi and Mombasa offices, 24th May, commended the regional teams for their dedication, professionalism and commitment to service delivery while noting the continued need to place the field offices as service hubs to the grassroot.

“We will continue equipping and empowering the field offices to effectively engage and implement office activities effectively across the country through ORPPKenya established stakeholder engagement and communication standards,”J.C .Lorionokou.

Assistant Registrar CS Agatha appreciated the regional officers for maintaining office standards and enhancing service delivery, while calling for continuous resourcing and coordination between Headquarter and Regional Offices to strengthen operations.

The consultative engagement also accords respective Coordinators and their team to orient the leadership, detail milestones, evaluate stakeholder engagement impact and chart collective service reviews for overall ORPPKenya service delivery improvement and reforms.

The leadership who are accompanied by ORPPKenya senior officers and Coordinators in the region are preceded with courtesy visits to ORPP public entity stakeholders situate in the respective regions. The visits were coordinated by Field Services Coordination department, headed by Joshua Ngala.

Newly recruited interns and attaches were today inducted at the ORPPKenya Headquarters offices as part of the Office’s commitment to building a professional, service-oriented workforce.

Heads of Departments and their representatives equipped the new team with insights on their roles, public service expectations, and the operational mandate of ORPPKenya across various functional areas.

The in-house induction programme, coordinated by the Human Resource Management Department, forms part of ORPPKenya’s mentorship and capacity-building initiatives aimed at nurturing young professionals, enhancing workplace integration, and supporting career growth for interns, attaches, and officers deployed to the Office.

The team had a pleasant duty to engage the judges assessing varied categories, where ORPPKenya demonstrated its milestones in how it aligned its mandate to show them, its lead in as a regulatory authority and ICT-oriented services.

Besides, we had the pleasure a host of guests, including the Laikipia County DG Reuben Kamuri, Mt Kenya Chairman Justus Maragara, CEO Nanyuki Referral Hospital, among other delegations.

The Registrar of Political Parties today hosted a courtesy visit from UNDP Kenya Deputy Resident Representative, Madelena Monoja and Jane Serwanga, Project Manager, Elections Governance and Inclusive Growth Unit, UNDP Kenya.

The engagement focused on strengthening collaboration in advancing inclusive, transparent and credible political processes ahead of the 2027 General Elections. The discussions underscored the importance of strategic partnerships in promoting democratic governance, civic participation and institutional capacity building within Kenya’s political landscape.
