Anhui University of the People's Republic of China is set to increase its scholarship quotas and welcome more Cambodian students to pursue higher education at the institution.

This commitment was highlighted during a working meeting on the morning of June 2nd, 2026, between His Excellency Lauv Vann, Head of the Academic Institutions Office of the A.M.T Scholarship Committee and Head of the Overseas Student Affairs Office of the A.M.T Association, and Mr. Wang Shouguo, Vice President of Anhui University, along with his colleagues.

During the meeting, H.E. Lauv Vann emphasized that the Royal Government of Cambodia consistently views educational institutions as vital, indispensable partners in shaping the future of Cambodian youth. HANGZHOU, CHINA — On May 31st, 2026, The students of the Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittiprittpundit (A.M.T) pursuing their degrees in Hangzhou and at Huzhou Normal University in China participated in the "14th International Cultural Festival of the Zhejiang University of Technology." These.

During the festival, the A.M.T scholarship students set up cultural exhibition booths featuring:
Traditional Khmer souvenirs and Krama (traditional scarves).
Sculptures and handcrafted artworks reflecting the ancestral soul of Khmer culture.
Authentic Cambodian desserts prepared for international attendees to sample.

We—the leadership, members, and affiliates of the Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittiprittpundit Scholarship Students Association (A.M.T)—wish to declare our absolute and full support for the statement made on June 2nd, 2026, by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. This statement outlines the Royal Government's resolution regarding the Overlapping Claims Area (OCA) by officially transmitting a notification to the Thai counterpart and the Secretary-General of the United Nations to initiate the Compulsory Conciliation mechanism under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). This action follows Thailand's unilateral withdrawal from the 2001 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), moving away from bilateral mechanisms to pursue a peaceful resolution based on international law for the overlapping maritime claims with Thailand.

The initiation of this Compulsory Conciliation mechanism is clear testimony to the goodwill and high sense of responsibility of the Royal Government in safeguarding national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the supreme interests of the motherland. It reflects a steadfast commitment to pursuing peaceful means after all avenues within the bilateral framework for a resolution have been exhausted.

We—the leadership, members, and affiliates of the A.M.T Association—call upon the international community to closely observe and monitor the implementation of this Compulsory Conciliation mechanism under UNCLOS to achieve a peaceful, just, and transparent resolution. We collectively stand in solidarity with the Royal Government's measures to defend Cambodia's national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and legitimate rights. Furthermore, we call upon citizens from all walks of life to maintain national unity and place their utmost trust in the leadership of the Royal Government to resolve the Overlapping Claims Area peacefully and in strict accordance with international law.

Lauv Vann—Head of the Office of Educational Institutions of the A.M.T Scholarship Committee and Head of the Overseas Student Affairs Office of the A.M.T Association—and Mr. Lu Peng, Deputy Director of the Anhui Provincial Department of Education, along with his colleagues.

H.E. Lauv Vann Urges Students in China to Master "Real Skills" for National Development

ANHUI, CHINA — On the evening of May 31st, 2026, H.E. Lauv Vann, Head of the Academic Institutions Office of the A.M.T Scholarship Committee and Head of the Overseas Student Affairs Office of the A.M.T Association, led a delegation to host a cordial gathering and solidarity dinner with 65 Cambodian scholarship students pursuing their degrees across various universities in Anhui Province, China. The event aimed to strengthen solidarity, monitor academic progress, and assess the welfare of Cambodian students living abroad.

Speaking on the momentous occasion, H.E. Lauv Vann conveyed the heartfelt regards, deep affection, and profound consideration of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Honorary President of the A.M.T Association, alongside Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony, Chairwoman of the A.M.T Scholarship Committee and President of the A.M.T Association. He emphasized that the Prime Minister and Lok Chumteavbandit constantly prioritize the well-being and academic success of Cambodian students abroad.

Concurrently, the head of the delegation urged the students to remain dedicated to achieving high scores on the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) and mastering their respective majors. This dedication, he noted, ensures they uphold the core principle of "true study, true knowledge, and true capability."

Furthermore, he encouraged them to be exemplary students by actively engaging in social activities and university programs. H.E. Lauv Vann also called upon every student to act as a "cultural diplomat" representing Cambodia by showcasing and promoting the nation's rich culture, civilization, and fine traditions on the international stage. He stressed the importance of unity and mutual assistance, advising senior students to guide and support their juniors.

In response, a representative of the A.M.T students expressed immense joy and profound gratitude toward Samdech Techo, Samdech Kittiprittpundit, Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister, and Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony for granting them these prestigious scholarships for higher education abroad. The representative also thanked them for establishing the student management working group, which remains close to the students, monitors their well-being, and addresses their challenges—providing them with a sense of warmth and security akin to living in their home country.
