She’s even hinted that since I make more money than her, I should be the one covering the bill—not my husband, just me. Yes, I do earn a decent income, but not enough to treat someone every time they visit. Still, I’ve often paid the bill and asked her to reimburse me. She never has.

Last night was the final straw. She had made a reservation at a high-end restaurant, and before we left, I made it crystal clear that I would not be paying for her meal this time. Here’s where things get interesting, and I’ll admit, I may have taken a page out of Two and a Half Men for this one.

Two gray kittens were found in a box outside when they were a few weeks old. The mother cat was nowhere in sight, and the kittens desperately needed intervention.

Tails High, an all-volunteer rescue, took them in. After 2-3 weeks of care, their little bellies rounded out, and their energy levels improved.

The kittens, named Mike and Ike (as they were thought to be boys at first), hopped out of their carrier when they landed in a new foster home for socialization. In no time, they began seeking out empty laps to sit on.

A cat was overlooked for almost a year at an animal shelter until the perfect family came for him. Now, he couldn’t be happier.

Luka, a tuxedo cat with an exclamation mark on his nose, came to the Exploits Valley SPCA when he was seven months old. He was immediately friendly towards people and started mingling with other shelter cats, playing and snuggling with them.

“Luka is, bar none, one of the best cats on the planet Earth. He wants nothing more than to be loved and give love. He’s constantly cuddling or head-butting the other boys (his feline roommates),” the SPCA shared.

Despite his endearing personality and the joy he brought to everyone, his stay at the shelter turned into months.
