Yesterday, Hon. Rolston Anglin, joined by Deputy Director Mr. Elroy Bryan Watler, visited the airport to extend his best wishes and bid farewell to several groups of students embarking on exciting international journeys. ✈️
The groups travelling included:
- Joanna Clarke Primary School Class of 2026, travelling to Panama for their Year 6 trip;
- Cayman Youth Choir, travelling to Lake Garda, Italy, to participate in the International Choral Festival; and
- East End Primary School Class of 2026, departing for Disney World on their Year 6 end-of-year trip.
The Ministry of Education & Training wishes safe journeys to all students, parents, teachers, staff, and chaperones travelling in the days ahead. Enjoy these exciting opportunities abroad and represent your schools and the Cayman Islands with pride.🌟

Mrs. Julie Hunter, JP, MP, on behalf of Hon. Rolston Anglin, Minister for Education & Training, attended the 34th Annual Flowers Sea Swim on Saturday, 13 June at Seven Mile Beach to congratulate all swimmers who participated in the event, as well as the Flowers Sea Swim committee and sponsors for their continued support.
She recognised the achievements of both local and international swimmers and athletes who participated in the highly anticipated event, highlighting the importance of swimming as a vital life-saving skill. She also acknowledged the impact of the initiative, which has helped more than 3,000 children across the Cayman Islands learn this essential skill.
Mrs. Julie Hunter, also presented plaques to sponsor representatives in recognition of their support for the event.
Hon. Isaac Rankine, JP, MP, Minister for Social Development & Innovation and Minister for Youth, Sports, Culture & Heritage, and Hon. Gary Rutty, MP, Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism & Trade Development, also shared remarks congratulating the nearly 700 participants and expressing appreciation to the Flowers Group for hosting another successful event.

Hon. Rolston Anglin, Minister for Education & Training, attended the CM FutureFlex 2026 on Friday, 12 June at Hotel Indigo, where he delivered remarks to students from public and private high schools across the Cayman Islands. He shared his personal experiences growing up, navigating the challenges of high school, managing academic pressures, and making decisions that can positively shape their future.
Elroy Bryan-Watler, Deputy Chief Officer (Education Policy and Planning), was also in attendance and participated in a panel discussion alongside other industry professionals.
The student career conference was designed to inspire ambition and connect students with real-world opportunities through engaging speakers, panel discussions, hands-on career simulations, interactive career booths, practical workshops and networking opportunities.
Students had the opportunity to explore various career pathways, ask questions, learn about scholarship opportunities and gain valuable insights from industry professionals.

🏫 Hon. Rolston Anglin, Minister for Education & Training, recently visited the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre (CIFEC), accompanied by senior leadership from the Ministry and Department of Education Services.
During the visit, the delegation toured the school's facilities and classrooms, gaining valuable insights into CIFEC's achievements and opportunities for continued improvement. Minister Anglin and Chief Officer Ms. Cetonya Cacho also met with student leaders, the school's senior leadership team and teachers to better understand their successes, challenges, and priorities.
🤝 The visit marked the conclusion of the Minister's tour of all government schools across Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac, reinforcing the Ministry's commitment to engaging directly with students, educators, and school communities to support educational excellence across the Cayman Islands.

The Minister for Education & Training, Hon. Rolston Anglin, attended the Boyz2Men Fine Dining with Mom event on Friday evening at The Ritz Carlton to celebrate and honour mothers and inspiring young men on their growth and personal development refined throughout the programme.
The Minister commended the young men for their strength, resilience and commitment to personal growth, highlighting their determination to become the best versions of themselves and achieve their full potential.

⚠️ 🌧️ The Cayman Islands National Weather Service has issued a flooding advisory for Grand Cayman today, 9 June 2026.
In response, the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) and the Department of Education Services (DES) urge parents and guardians to make arrangements to safely collect their children from the bus.
Parents and guardians are also asked to ensure children are equipped for wet conditions throughout the week, including raincoats and umbrellas, for drop-off, pick-up, and transitions between classes.
The MoET and DES are closely monitoring the situation and will issue further school-related updates via social media and direct communication should conditions worsen. Parents and guardians are also encouraged to visit caymanprepared.ky for weather-related information and updates.
