The Cayman Registry is dedicated to raising awareness among all seafarers regarding their right to a safe and professional maritime working environment. In support of this, Cayman Registry organized a peaceful and safe space for yacht crew on Monday, March 23rd, just before the Palm Beach International Boat Show.
This initiative, made possible through the generous support of Safe Harbor Rybovich, was a direct way for Cayman Registry to serve the seafaring community.
While Cayman Registry has been working for decades to protect the human element, including mandates for employment agreements and established procedures for reporting/no-tolerance policy for sexual harassment and misconduct, this particular event focused on prioritizing seafarer wellness.
We firmly believe that focusing on wellbeing is a necessity, not a luxury. It is the right path forward for the industry, both at sea and ashore. The event featured complimentary yoga and sound healing sessions, followed by a health-conscious lunch. Additionally, a variety of useful information surrounding resources were made available to all crew.
Cayman Registry extends its thanks to all involved, including the yacht crew who were able to attend and take this valuable time for themselves, away from the high demands of the industry. Together, we make the difference.

Sunday marked the conclusion of the free one-day Introduction to Boating: Safe Operations of Commercial Vessels course. As the first course of its kind, it was met with tremendous enthusiasm and proved to be a great success within our local maritime community.
Over the course of four training days, nearly 100 participants attended, demonstrating the strong interest in and demand for this important initiative. The Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands extends its sincere appreciation to the United Kingdom Maritime and Coastguard Agency for providing the funding that made this course possible.
We also wish to thank the Cayman Islands Government: Ministry of Financial Services, the Cayman Islands Coast Guard, and the Port Authority of the Cayman Islands for their invaluable support and collaboration throughout this community initiative.
We look forward to offering additional courses and expanding training opportunities in the future.
