🇱🇹🤝🇰🇿Today, Ambassador Egidijus Navikas met with Yerbol Khabylbekov, Director of the Kazakh National Drama and Music Theatre in Astana.
The Ambassador expressed his sincere gratitude to the Director and the entire theatre team for their invaluable contribution to the successful organization of the concert by the distinguished Franco-Lithuanian pianist MUZA Rubackyte, held in Astana within the framework of the Francophonie Spring.
The discussion also touched on exciting opportunities for future cultural cooperation and upcoming joint projects, aimed at further strengthening Lithuanian-Kazakh cultural ties.

Another strong vote of confidence in Lithuania’s fintech ecosystem.

Following approval from the Bank of Lithuania, the 250-year-old UK banking giant Lloyds Banking Group is set to acquire the Lithuania-licensed fintech firm Curve Europe.

The deal adds to a growing list of global financial companies choosing to expand through Lithuania, including Robinhood, Checkout, Revolut and others.

It also highlights the sector’s growing maturity, showing that Lithuania offers favourable conditions for fintech firms to establish and grow, while their maturity and results are attracting investor attention and creating new expansion opportunities.

The Government of Japan has announced that Professor Virginijus Šikšnys of the Life Sciences Center at Vilnius University will receive the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon.

This prestigious honour recognises his contributions to academic exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and Lithuania, as well as his long-standing collaboration with Japan’s scientific community.

Congratulations to Professor Šikšnys on this well-deserved recognition!

The Lithuanian-born, world-leading second-hand marketplace Vinted has completed an €880M secondary share transaction, reaching an €8B valuation.

Notably, this was not a fresh fundraising round, but a secondary share sale – a strong signal of investor demand for existing shares.

The numbers reflect that progress. In 2025 alone, the company grew GMV 47% YoY to €10.8B, generated €1.1B in revenue, and delivered €62M in net profit across 26 markets.

The milestone also highlights Lithuania’s broader tech rise. Since 2020, the ecosystem – now valued at €16.4B – has grown nearly sixfold.
