Tables and chairs are located along the route and you are encouraged to pause, have a swim, and enjoy the surroundings with picnic food and drinks that can be provided by our restaurant. Serving Thai, Laos and Western food, you also have the option to sit on bamboo mats and eat ‘Laos Style’. Famous ‘Beer lao’ is available, as is ‘lao lao’, a locally made rice whisky intended for the brave! The hike difficulty rating is 6-7, with anti-clockwise being the easier direction. The path can be wet and the weather humid, so wear proper footwear and carry water. Flow on the falls varies with the seasons, being lowest during March to May. To ensure a clean environment in Laos, please use rubbish bins provided along the route. Directions - Tad Thong is easily accessible by Tuk Tuk, car, scooter or geared bicycle. Take road 13 south, direction Vientiane, for 2.5 kilometres from the south bus station then turn right (signposted) for a further 2.5 kilometres along an unpaved road. Opens every day from 9am.
