Labour Day Celebrations 2026 – Day 6 – May 1 – Ecumenical Church Service
Labour Day 2026 concluded with an Ecumenical Service at the Bethel Tabernacle, bringing together workers, government officials, employers, union representatives, and members of the public in a spirit of reflection, gratitude, and unity.
The service offered an opportunity to give thanks for the contributions of workers across Saint Lucia and to seek continued guidance and blessings for the nation's workforce.

Labour Day Celebrations 2026 – Day 5 – April 30 – Panel Discussion | The Future of Work
Day 5 brought youth voices to the forefront with an engaging panel discussion on "The Future of Work" at the Financial Administrative Centre.
Moderated by Tracey George, the event brought together secondary school students, young professionals, and industry leaders to explore the evolving world of work, emerging opportunities, and the skills needed for success.

Labour Day Celebrations 2026 – Day 4 – April 29 – Ratification and Signing of ILO Convention C144
A significant milestone for social dialogue and labour relations was marked on Day 4 of Labour Day Celebrations with the ratification and signing of ILO Convention C144 at the Financial Administrative Centre.
The ceremony featured remarks from Dr. Joni Musabayana and brought together Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre, Labour Minister Emma Hippolyte, Permanent Secretary Shelia Imbert, and members of Saint Lucia’s National Tripartite Advisory Committee, among others.

The seminar explored the effects of poor indoor air quality and mold on occupational health, bringing together approximately 60 participants from across various sectors. The event was also livestreamed, allowing the wider public to engage in this important conversation on creating safer and healthier workplaces.

The meeting brought together key labour stakeholders, including Dr. Joni Musabayana, Director of the ILO Decent Work Team and Office for the Caribbean, Permanent Secretary Shelia Imbert, Julian Monrose, Janey Joseph, Nikolai Lansiquot, Goretti Paul and others.
The discussions highlighted the importance of workers' rights, social dialogue, and creating opportunities for decent work for all.
