The practical training sessions of the joint field exercise Indu Sri Lanka "Mitra Shakti" got underway today (07th October).
There, the troops of Sri Lanka and Indian Army teams conducted Road Blocks, Crowd Dispersal, Anti MT Ambush and Urban Patrol.
The exercise was conducted on the instructions of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva and with the supervision of the Exercise Director and the General Officer Commanding 53 Division Major General Nishantha Manage.
The exercise was conducted in the view of strengthening the unity among two Armies adhering to the health guidelines.

Inaugural parade was held Ex "Mithra Shakthi" Joint Field exercise
Inaugural parade was held between the two countries prior to the Indo Sri Lanka Joint Field Exercise Mitra Shakti commenced at the parade ground of the Combat Training School - Ampara.
Brigadier Anil Perera commanded the parade and Colonel Prakash Kumar was the second in command for the parade.
After a close observation of this colorful parade by the Exercise Director & General Officer Commanding of 53 Division Major General Nishantha Manage, the exercise flag was given to the respected team.
The official statement to commence the exercise was announced by the Exercise Director Major General Nishantha Manage.
The inaugural parade of the joint field exercise was conducted adhering to the health guidelines.

A special media conference chaired by the Exercise Director & General Officer Commanding 53 Division Major General Nishantha Manage was held After commencing of the Indu Sri Lanka Joint Field Exercise Mitra Shakti at the Combat Training School Ampara today.
Colonel Prakash Kumar who is headed by the Indian Army and Major Mahesh Pathiraja of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment who is headed by the Sri Lanka Army during the exercise were present at the conference.
