π World Obesity Day & International Womenβs Day Commemoration Program π©ββοΈπ
In commemoration of World Obesity Day and International Womenβs Day, an educational lecture series focusing on nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices was successfully conducted for 320 nursing students of Kalutara Nursing College. The program aimed to enhance awareness and provide essential knowledge on proper nutrition, obesity prevention, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, which are essential for nurses as future healthcare professionals and health promoters.

This valuable educational initiative was jointly organized by the Sri Lanka Intensive Care Nurses Association (SLICNA) and the Sri Lanka Nurses Association (SLNA).
The success of this workshop was made possible through the generous support and guidance of the Principal of Kalutara Nursing College, Mr. T. R. J. Thalagala, together with the dedicated academic and non-academic staff of the college, whose cooperation greatly contributed to the smooth conduct of the program.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Disna Kumari, highlighting the importance of nutrition and health awareness. The session on professional needs and responsibilities of nurses was conducted by Mr. W. A. Keerthirathna, President of the Sri Lanka Nurses Association and President of the Sri Lanka Nursing Council, adding significant value to the program.
During the program, the organizing committee also decided to initiate a continuous study program on nutrition to further strengthen the knowledge and awareness of nursing students regarding nutrition, obesity prevention, and healthy lifestyle practices.
π SLICNA extends its sincere appreciation to all resource persons, the college administration, and the enthusiastic nursing students whose participation contributed to making this program a great success.

The 2nd Phase of the SLICNA Talent Show 2026, proudly organized by the Sri Lanka Intensive Care Nurses Association (SLICNA), was a remarkable celebration of talent, unity, and creativity among Sri Lankan nurses.

This special round marked an important milestone in the competition. From the first batch of 25 talented nurses with outstanding singing abilities, only the very best would move forward to the grand finale.
The atmosphere at the LRH Auditorium was filled with excitement, emotion, and inspiration. Fellow nurses, well-wishers, and distinguished guestsβincluding the Chief Nursing Officer of LRHβgathered to witness this historic moment as SLICNA conducted its first-ever Talent Show competition.

π€π SLICNA TALENT SHOW 2026 β SECOND ROUND SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED! ππ€
The Second Round of the First Phase of the SLICNA Talent Show 2026, organized for the first time by the Sri Lanka Intensive Care Nurses Association (SLICNA), was successfully held on 22nd February 2026 at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital Auditorium.
Out of 25 talented nurses who showcased their exceptional singing abilities, 12 outstanding performers were selected for the Final Round. The event was attended by a distinguished gathering, including the Chief Nursing Officer of LRH and a large number of nursing professionals and well-wishers.
