𝑰𝒏 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎 𝑺𝑳𝑷𝑺 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝑰𝑰 (𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟑 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆) -𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒑 𝑩

The In-Service Training Program for SLPS Grade II (2013 Intake) – Group B continued with the HR Management in Development and Planning module, highlighted by an insightful field visit to Ritigala Strict Nature Reserve. The visit, which included an overnight stay, offered participants an immersive learning experience focused on team building, conflict resolution and leadership development.
This program is designed to equip participants with essential knowledge in HR management and leadership, fostering ethical compliance, teamwork and effective resource sharing to promote professional excellence in development and planning.
The module was coordinated by Ms. Anusha Batawala Gamage, Additional Director General (Learning and Development), SLIDA.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා සංවර්ධන පරිපාලන ආයතනය ස්ථාපිත කර වසර 44ක් පිරීමේ සංවත්සරය අධ්‍යක්ෂ ජනරාල්තුමන්ගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් ආයතන පරිශ්‍රයේදී උත්සවාකාරයෙන් සමරනු ලැබීය. ඒ හා සමගාමීව, රසවින්දනාත්මක වැඩසටහනක් සහ නිළධාරීන් වෙනුවෙන් විනෝදාත්මක ක්‍රියාකාරකම් රැසක් ද ශ්‍රී ලංකා සංවර්ධන පරිපාලන ආයතනයේ සුබ සාධක සංගමය විසින් වසර 25 කට වඩා වැඩි සේවාකාලයක් සම්පූර්ණ කරමින් ආයතනයේ උන්නතිය උදෙසා කටයුතු කළ නිලධාරීන්ගේ සේවය අගය කරමින් ඔවුන් වෙත සමරු ඵලක සිහිවටනයක් ද පිරිනමනු ලැබූ අතර, SLIDA කාර්ය මණ්ඩලයේ නිලධාරීන්ගේ දරුවන් වෙත ත්‍යාග පිරිනැමීමක් ද සිදු කරන ලදී.

Recently, the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA) successfully completed a work-study assignment for the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). The final report on the work-study and organizational restructuring was presented to the SLTDA Board and officially handed over. The report will provide guidance on restructuring the SLTDA to align with the National Tourism Policy and its targets.

The study was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Vimukthi Janadara, Director General, SLIDA. The four-member consultancy team comprised Ms. Neranjala Jayasundara (Former Additional Director General of SLIDA), the late Mr. Ranjan Samaraweera, Dr. Mayura Arandara (Senior Consultant, SLIDA), and Mr. Manoj Colombage (Work Study Expert).

Leadership Boost for Sri Lanka Prisons! A landmark Training Program for Superintendents of Prisons, Assistant Superintendents (ASP), and Rehabilitation SP/ASP was elaborately inaugurated at SLIDA on the 08 May 2026, equipping senior officers overseeing Prisons with vital skills in rehabilitation, conflict resolution, team motivation, and strategic management to advance the Department of Prisons' vision. The prestigious event was graced by Mr. A. V. Janadara (Director General, SLIDA), Dr. S.R.S.N. Sudasinghe (Additional DG - Organizational Development, SLIDA), Ms. Anusha Batawala Gamage (Additional DG - Learning & Development, SLIDA), and SLIDA faculty. Coordinated by Dr. S.R.S.N. Sudasinghe, this program promises safer prisons, reduced recidivism, and stronger officer-inmate bonds for a civilized society.

The Corporate Plan Finalization Workshop of the National Eye Bank Trust of Sri Lanka (NEBTSL) was successfully held on 9th May 2026 at Galle Face Hotel with the participation of distinguished professionals and key stakeholders in the health sector. The session was graced by the Special Guest, Dr. Anil Jasinghe, together with the Chief Executive Director of NEBTSL, Dr. Kusum Sri, senior ophthalmology experts, and members of the NEBT Board of Trustees.

This strategic brainstorming and consultancy-oriented workshop focused on refining and aligning the Corporate Plan of NEBTSL with the National Eye Bank Trust Act No. 22 of 2023, contemporary governance principles, and international eye banking standards. The session was led by Anusha Batawala Gamage, demonstrating the commitment of Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA) toward strengthening public sector capacity through professional management consultancy services. The workshop was co-facilitated by Ms. Yohani Flesinger . The consultancy team also comprising Senior Consultant Dr. Mayura Arandara.
The programme was jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Mass Media and the National Eye Bank Trust of Sri Lanka.

As part of the In Service Training Program SLPS Grade II (2013 Intake) - Group C, a thought-provoking session was held under the Module "HR Management in Development and Planning”.

The session on "How AI is transforming Human Resources" was conducted by Mr. Srikanth Jayarajah - Project Manager - Innovation Lead-Operations Manager -Communication's Lead-RR Donnelley Global Outsourcing.

Participants were introduced to the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Human Resource Management (HRM), highlighting how AI can streamline and enhance core HR functions. The session emphasized the importance of integrating technology with human capabilities to create more effective and responsive HR practices. It also prepared HR professionals for emerging trends by promoting a collaborative approach in which AI supports, rather than replaces, human interaction in the workplace.

Highlights from the recent Induction Training Program for Sri Lanka Scientific Service (Open) Batch (Group B). An inspiring session was held under the Module " Office Management and Public Administration”. The session on " Good Governance and Public Administration" was conducted by Dr. A.M.P Arandara - Senior Consultant - SLIDA.

Through this module, participants are empowered to provide introductory awareness of the prevailing legal and procedural guidelines,governing public service administration and to highlight their practical implications in supporting office duties.
