Sup Tulang – A Cherished Hajj Qurban Tradition
Alhamdulillah, following the completion of the Hajj Qurban and the distribution of meat, the cherished tradition of Sup Tulang was carried out.
Members of the community came together to prepare this traditional dish, fostering the spirit of unity, friendship, and gratitude that accompanies the blessed days of Eid-ul-Adha. The warm and hearty bowl of Sup Tulang was enjoyed by all in an atmosphere of fellowship and togetherness.
We were delighted to have Mr. Khairul Iskandar, his family, and other officials of the Malaysian High Commission join us in enjoying Sup Tulang, adding to the warmth and spirit of the evening.
A special thank you to Shanaz Bohoran and Hashmareen Bangsajayah for coordinating the arrangements and ensuring that everything came together seamlessly.
Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to Shahana Dole, Shafeena Fadjudeen, Mersumi Majid, Jean Aher, Seenar, Mutiara, Fazlin Hamidon, Nazreena, Zahara, and her assistant for their dedication in preparing and cooking the Sup Tulang. Your hard work, teamwork, and enthusiasm made the evening a wonderful success.
We were also privileged to have Ruzaina Hadji with us, and look forward to seeing how she captures and shares the essence of this beautiful tradition with the world in her own subtle and unique way.
Beyond the act of sacrifice, occasions such as these strengthen community bonds, preserve our cultural heritage, and remind us of the blessings of gathering together in service, gratitude, and friendship.
Alhamdulillah for a memorable evening of tradition, fellowship, and community spirit. May Almighty Allah accept our sacrifices, our efforts, and our intentions, and reward all those who contributed towards making Hajj Qurban 2026 a success. Ameen. 🤲🌙

Hajj Qurban 2026 – Alhamdulillah
By the grace and mercy of Almighty Allah, the Sri Lanka Malay Association (SLMA) successfully carried out Hajj Qurban 2026 in Hambantota, Kirinda, and Colombo.
A total of 11 cows and 5 goats were sacrificed in Hambantota and Kirinda, while 4 cows and 3 goats were sacrificed in Colombo, enabling many families to benefit from this blessed act.
This meaningful initiative was coordinated by SLMA's Religious Affairs & Janaza Committee, headed by Zaheeda Jainudeen Ousmand, who managed and coordinated the entire operation while being overseas. Alhamdulillah, the project was executed exceptionally well with the invaluable assistance of Izvan Ahamat, Yaseen Samath, Anver Falill and Soekerno Ousman.
The distribution of the Qurban meat in Hambantota and Kirinda was ably handled by Roy Marso. A very special thank you to him for his dedication, commitment, and tireless efforts in ensuring that the meat reached the intended beneficiaries efficiently and with care.
A special note of appreciation also goes to Izwan Sallay and his sons, as well as Rilwan Lantra, whose dedication and commitment on the ground contributed greatly to the success of this year's Qurban programme.
We sincerely thank all our donors, volunteers, and well-wishers whose generosity and support made this effort possible.
May Almighty Allah accept these sacrifices and all deeds performed solely for His pleasure. May He abundantly reward everyone who contributed towards Hajj Qurban 2026, and bless them with His mercy, barakah, and countless rewards in this world and the Hereafter.
Jazakumullahu Khairan to all who participated in this noble cause.

💧 Water for Life continues in Puttalam…
The Sri Lanka Malay Association is humbled to have initiated a Deep Well Project through its Social services committee, headed by Mr. Perry Jumat at the Primary School of Zahira College Puttalam, bringing clean and safe water to hundreds of children and staff.
This meaningful project was made possible through the generous funding support of Bantuan Foundation UK, whose contribution has now become a lifeline for an entire school community.
The heartfelt letter received from the Principal truly says it all. More than 1,650 children now have access to a reliable source of clean water throughout the day. The project has improved sanitation, hygiene, attendance, and created a healthier learning environment for the students. Most importantly, it has given teachers and children the peace of mind to focus on education without the daily struggle for water.
This deep well is not merely a water source — it is hope, dignity, health, and a better future for generations to come.
May Almighty Allah shower His blessings upon every donor, supporter, volunteer, and well-wisher who contributed towards this meritorious deed. May this act of sadaqah jariyah continue to benefit lives for many years ahead, Insha Allah. 🤲💙
