2027 ජනවාරි 14 සිට 17 දක්වා BMICH හි පැවැත්වීමට නියමිත 'ශ්‍රී ලංකා එක්ස්පෝ 2027' (Sri Lanka Expo 2027) සඳහා භාෂා පරිවර්තන (interpretation) සහ ලිඛිත පරිවර්තන (translation) සේවාවන් සැපයීම අරමුණු කරගත් සහයෝගී වැඩසටහනක් පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කිරීම සඳහා, කැලණිය විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ නායකත්වය හමුවීමට ලැබීම මට ගෞරවයක් විය.

ජාත්‍යන්තර ගැනුම්කරුවන්, ආයෝජකයින් සහ ව්‍යාපාරික නියෝජිත කණ්ඩායම් පිළිගැනීමට ශ්‍රී ලංකාව සූදානම් වන මොහොතක, අර්ථවත් ව්‍යාපාරික හමුවීම් (B2B meetings), ව්‍යාපාරික සාකච්ඡා සහ ශක්තිමත් ජාත්‍යන්තර වෙළඳ හවුල්කාරිත්වයන් ගොඩනැගීම සඳහා ඵලදායී සන්නිවේදනය අත්‍යවශ්‍ය වේ.

මෙම සාකච්ඡාවේදී, භාෂා පරිවර්තන සේවාවන්, සිසුන් සඳහා සීමාවාසික පුහුණු අවස්ථා, ලිඛිත පරිවර්තන සහාය සහ දිශානති වැඩසටහන් (orientation programmes) හරහා විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය සතු භාෂාමය විශේෂඥ දැනුම යොදා ගත හැකි ආකාරය පිළිබඳව අපි සොයා බැලුවෙමු. මෙම සහයෝගීතාව මගින් සිසුන්ට වටිනා ප්‍රායෝගික අත්දැකීම් ලබා දෙන අතරම, ගෝලීය වෙළඳපොළ සමඟ සම්බන්ධ වීමට ශ්‍රී ලාංකික අපනයනකරුවන්ට ද සහාය සැලසෙනු ඇත.

'ශ්‍රී ලංකා එක්ස්පෝ 2027' යනු අපගේ අපනයන හැකියාවන් ප්‍රවර්ධනය කිරීමට, ආයෝජන ආකර්ෂණය කර ගැනීමට සහ 2030 වන විට ඇමරිකානු ඩොලර් බිලියන 36ක අපනයන ආදායමක් ඉලක්ක කරගත් 'ජාතික අපනයන සංවර්ධන සැලැස්ම (NEDP) 2026–2030' හි අරමුණු සාක්ෂාත් කර ගැනීමට ඉවහල් වන ප්‍රධාන වේදිකාවකි.

Strengthening Language Partnerships for Sri Lanka Expo 2027 | EDB and University of Kelaniya

It was an honour for me to meet the leadership of the University of Kelaniya to discuss a collaborative initiative to provide language interpretation and translation services for Sri Lanka Expo 2027, scheduled to be held at the BMICH from 14–17 January 2027.

As Sri Lanka prepares to welcome international buyers, investors and business delegations, effective communication will be essential to facilitating meaningful B2B meetings, business negotiations and stronger international trade partnerships.

During our discussion, we explored opportunities to engage the University’s language expertise through interpretation services, student internships, translation support and orientation programmes. This collaboration will also provide valuable practical experience for students while supporting Sri Lankan exporters in connecting with global markets.

Sri Lanka Expo 2027 is a key platform for promoting our export capabilities, attracting investment and advancing the objectives of the National Export Development Plan (NEDP) 2026–2030, which targets USD 36 billion in export revenue by 2030.

Strengthening India–Sri Lanka Business Partnerships | CII Delegation Invited to Sri Lanka Expo 2027

It was a pleasure to welcome a business delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) to explore opportunities for strengthening bilateral trade, investment and business cooperation between India and Sri Lanka.

During the meeting, I invited the delegation to participate in Sri Lanka Expo 2027, scheduled for 14–17 January 2027 at the BMICH, Colombo. This major international trade and export promotion platform will connect Sri Lankan exporters with international buyers, investors and business partners, showcasing our country's diverse export capabilities and investment potential.

Alongside the main exhibition, the Expo will feature an Investor Forum, industry-specific sessions, Business-to-Business (B2B) matchmaking meetings, fashion shows, culinary shows and cultural performances, creating valuable opportunities to establish partnerships and explore new commercial prospects.

Strengthening Sri Lanka’s Investment Potential and Export-Led Economic Growth 🇱🇰

It was an honour for me to participate as a panellist at the Sri Lanka Economic and Investment Summit 2026, organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce on 12 October 2026 at Shangri-La Colombo.

The investment-focused panel discussion provided a valuable platform to exchange perspectives on Sri Lanka’s investment opportunities, export-led growth, economic resilience and policy reforms in a changing global economy.

As Chairman of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), I believe that strengthening investor confidence, expanding export opportunities and fostering closer collaboration between the public and private sectors are essential to positioning Sri Lanka as a competitive investment destination and a leading regional export hub.
