We have planted over 103,000 saplings on state owned lands across Sri Lanka as Volunteers. Please join

We hope to help Sri Lanka with grass roots projects/ activities to help reforest it. Many destructive powers have sought temporary benefits over the long term and sustainable rewards a healthy forest/ green eco systems provides to the entire nation. Our mission is to re-plant and take back to nature, reforming to original as much as possible.

Clean Kandy Force collected 196 waste bags of trash in under 6hrs at the Polgolla - Lewella area with a focus at the Lewella bridge.

Pretty darn impressive today as we collected 196 bags of waste off the Mahaweli river at Lewella in Kandy.

Thanks to the amazing team from Clean Kandy Force , Colombo International School Kandy, Trinity College - Kandy, Sri Lanka and other volunteers.

What’s more is we separated 90% of the waste at the site and also counted brands of manufacturers whose waste we collected.

More direct actions coming through based on our learnings.

1. Informing manufacturers of their environmental footprint after consumption and their responsibilities I e directly contributing to cost of waste management

2. Creating a Taskforce, digitized and synergized across CEA, ministry, provincial council, district planning, Local Govt’s, RDA, Mahaweli, irrigation, police and MCs etc to tackle waste issues breaking information silos and power scope sharing issues and responsibility misconceptions.

3. Enforce stricter enforcement of existing laws for irresponsible and criminal waste dispensing and adding new spot fines for more categories (drafts sent to relevant authorities already)

Planting mangroves is essential for protecting coastlines from erosion and storms, mitigating climate change by storing significant amounts of carbon, and supporting biodiversity as a habitat and nursery for marine life.

They improve water quality, reduce flood risks, and sustain livelihoods through fisheries and natural resources. Mangroves also offer cost-effective coastal protection, cultural value, and opportunities for ecotourism, making them vital for both environmental health and community resilience.
