Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Galle Branch conducted a Basic First Aid Training Session and a Dissemination on Red Cross Humanitarian Activities for Prefects of Daham Schools in the Nagoda Division.
The programme was held at the Nagoda Divisional Secretariat premises on 03rd April 2026, aiming to enhance life-saving skills and promote humanitarian values among young leaders.

💧 Humanitarian Support for Bentota Community 💧
Responding to the urgent need for safe drinking water amidst the prevailing weather and climatic challenges, the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Galle Branch successfully facilitated the donation of water tanks to support the Bentota community.
This initiative was carried out following a request made by the Bentota Pradeshiya Sabha, aiming to ease the day-to-day drinking water difficulties faced by the residents. The programme was implemented under the guidance of our Branch Vice Chairman, Mr. Upali Sirimanne, whose leadership greatly contributed to the success of this effort.
Through this humanitarian intervention, we reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding community well-being and supporting vulnerable populations during challenging times.
We extend our sincere appreciation to all stakeholders who supported this meaningful initiative and helped bring relief to the Bentota community.

A Successful Act of Humanity ❤️
The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Galle Branch proudly collaborated with Softlogic Life Hikkaduwa Metro Franchise Branch to successfully conduct their Annual Blood Donation Programme on 15th March 2026 at the SLRCS Galle Branch Jagath Abeysinghe Auditorium.
This meaningful humanitarian initiative was led by our Branch Secretary, Mr. Kolitha Pathirana, alongside the guidance of Branch Vice Chairman, Mr. Upali Sirimanne, with the participation of distinguished guests and well-wishers who came forward to support this noble cause.

🚑 First Aid Service – People’s Bank Galle Region Cricket Tournament 2026 🏏
On 14th February 2026, the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Galle Branch proudly provided First Aid Service coverage for the People’s Bank Galle Region Cricket Tournament held at Seenigama.
Our dedicated First Aid team was on standby throughout the tournament to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participating officers and employees. During the event, we promptly attended to and treated all injured players, providing immediate medical assistance and necessary care.
As a humanitarian organization, we remain committed to safeguarding lives, promoting safety, and supporting community activities whenever and wherever needed.

🌾 Thai Pongal Day Celebration – 2026 🌾
In the spirit of unity, gratitude, and cultural harmony, the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Galle Branch Youth Committee, in collaboration with Royal Jade Pre School, successfully organized the Tamil Thai Pongal Day Celebration on 16th January 2026 at the Sri Lanka Red Cross Galle Branch premises.
This meaningful celebration highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the Tamil community, spreading values of togetherness, respect, and humanitarian friendship among children, youth members, and participants. Traditional rituals, joyful activities, and warm fellowship made the event truly memorable.
We sincerely thank Royal Jade Pre School, our Youth Committee members, volunteers, and all participants who contributed to the success of this celebration and helped promote cultural harmony within our community.

Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Galle Branch officially opened its activities for the New Year 2026 with a traditional Pirith chanting ceremony, invoking blessings for a year of service, compassion, and humanity.
The ceremony was held with the presence of Branch Chairman Mr. Piyal Ranchagoda, Branch Vice Chairman Mr. Upali Sirimanne, Branch Secretary Mr. Kolitha Pathirana, District Scout Commissioner Mr. Upul Kalansooriya, along with the esteemed members of the District Committee.
The event was further graced by the participation of the Branch Youth Chairman, Youth Committee members, SLRCs International Nursery staff, dedicated volunteers, and branch staff members.
May this New Year bring strength, unity, and renewed commitment to serve humanity with compassion and dedication.

Volunteer Appreciation Programme – Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS)
In heartfelt recognition of the unwavering dedication and selfless service of our volunteers, a Volunteer Appreciation Programme was officially conducted to honour those who worked tirelessly in the Relief Item Donation Programme and House Cleaning Programme carried out in support of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Polonnaruwa Branch, following the severe flooding caused by the Ditwah Cyclone.
This programme was organized to acknowledge the immense commitment, courage, and compassion shown by our volunteer members, who stood at the forefront of humanitarian response during this critical period.
We extend our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all donors who generously supported this mission with goods, essential items, and most importantly, financial contributions. Our special appreciation goes to Mr. Sahan Weerasinghe, Ms. Patricia Peck, Chief Engineer Mr. Mahesh Rajananayaka, Araliya Clothing, and all donors—we salute each and every one of you for your generosity and trust.

🌱 Clean Sri Lanka – Galle District Mobile Service 🌱
The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Galle Branch proudly participated in the “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative conducted for the Nagoda Divisional Secretariat community under the Galle District Mobile Service.
This meaningful activity was successfully carried out with the collective support of all government sectors and many supporting organizations, working together for a cleaner and healthier Sri Lanka.
As a humanitarian organization, SLRCS Galle Branch provided first aid support and full event coverage, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all participants throughout the program.
We extend our sincere thanks to Galle District Secretary Mr. W. A. Dharmasiri, all members of the District Secretariat office, Hon. Vice Chairman of SLRCS Galle Branch Mr. Upali Sirimanne, and our dedicated first aiders for their valuable contribution and commitment to the success of this event.
