இந்தக் கட்டிடம் கிழக்கு மாகாண கல்வித் திணைக்களத்தின் மூலம் ரூ. 28 மில்லியன் செலவில் கட்டப்பட்டது.

The inauguration of the new two-storey building with 06 classrooms constructed for Sri Sumedhankara Vidyalaya in Trincomalee was held today (14) under the patronage of the Eastern Provincial Governor Jayantha Lal Ratnasekera and the Trincomalee District Parliamentarian Roshan Akmeemana.

This building was constructed at a cost of Rs. 28 million from the Eastern Provincial Education Department.

The Provincial Director of Education, parents and residents of the area attended the event.

"Gagathala Literary Path" – Kantale Divisional Literary and Arts Festival 2026

The "Gagathala Literary Path" Kantale Divisional Literary and Arts Festival 2026 was held yesterday (11) at the Kantale Divisional Secretariat, under the patronage of the Governor of the Eastern Province, Mr. Jayantha Lal Rathnasekara. The event aimed to foster an interest in reading and writing among school students in the Kantale area and to encourage their engagement with literature.

During the event, the Governor delivered a special address highlighting the importance of reading, writing, and literary engagement for school students.

Additionally, literary figures who have contributed to the field of literature in the Kantale area were recognized and honored.

கிழக்கு மாகாண ஆளுநர் திரு. ஜயந்தலால் ரத்னசேகர அவர்களின் தலைமையில், மட்டக்களப்பு மாவட்டம், வஹாரை பகுதியில் ஒரு புதிய நெல் கிடங்கு 2026 செப்டம்பர் 09 அன்று பொதுமக்களுக்கு தானமாக வழங்கப்பட்டது.

கிழக்கு மாகாண விவசாயத் திணைக்களத்தின் ஆண்டு ஒதுக்கீட்டின் கீழ் ரூ. 20 மில்லியன் (ரூ. 20 கோடி) செலவில் கட்டப்பட்ட இந்த புதிய நெல் கிடங்கு வசதி, விவசாயிகளிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டது.

இந்தக் கிடங்கு, அப்பகுதி விவசாயிகளின் நெல் அறுவடையைப் பாதுகாப்பாக சேமித்து வைப்பதற்கான வாய்ப்பை வழங்குவதோடு, அறுவடைக்கு நியாயமான விலை பெறுவதற்கும், விவசாயிகளின் பொருளாதாரத்தை வலுப்படுத்துவதற்கும் ஒரு முக்கிய ஆதரவாக அமையும்.

නව වී ගබඩාව ගොවි ජනතාවගේ අයිතියට

නැගෙනහිර පළාත් ආණ්ඩුකාර ජයන්ත ලාල් රත්නසේකර මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන්, 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් 09 වන දින මඩකලපුව දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ වාහරෙයි ප්‍රදේශයේදී නව වී ගබඩාවක් ජනතා අයිතියට පත් කිරීම සිදු කෙරිණි.

නැගෙනහිර පළාත් කෘෂිකර්ම දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ වාර්ෂික ප්‍රතිපාදන යටතේ, රුපියල් මිලියන 20ක (රු. කෝටි 2ක) මුදලක් වැය කරමින් ඉදිකරන ලද මෙම නව වී ගබඩා පහසුකම ගොවි ජනතාව වෙත භාරදීම මෙහිදී සිදු විය.

New Paddy Warehouse Dedicates to Farmers

A new paddy warehouse was deeded to the public in the Vaharai area of ​​the Batticaloa District on September 09, 2026, under the patronage of the Governor of the Eastern Province, Mr. Jayantha Lal Ratnasekera.

This new paddy warehouse facility, built at a cost of Rs. 20 million (Rs. 20 crore) under the annual allocation of the Eastern Provincial Department of Agriculture, was handed over to the farmers.

This warehouse will provide an opportunity to safely store the paddy harvest of the farmers in the area, and it will be an important support in obtaining a fair price for the harvest and strengthening the economy of the farmers.

Providing financial assistance to farmers for the construction of water pumps and agricultural wells

A program to provide necessary facilities for the agricultural activities of the farmers was held on September 09, 2026, under the patronage of the Governor of the Eastern Province, Mr. Jayantha Lal Ratnasekera, at the Vantharumulai Agricultural Extension Center in the Batticaloa District.

Here, water pumps were provided to farmers and cheques were presented for the construction of agricultural wells through the PSDG 2026 project implemented under the 2026 annual allocation of the Provincial Department of Agriculture.

The objective of this program, implemented under an allocation of Rs. 25.88 million, is to improve water facilities for the cultivation of the farmers, increase agricultural productivity and develop their economic strength.

නැගෙනහිර පළාත් ආණ්ඩුකාර ජයන්ත ලාල් රත්නසේකර මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන්, නැගෙනහිර පළාත් කෘෂිකර්ම දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ මැදිහත්වීමෙන් ඉදිකරන ලද වාන්ඇල OFC කෘෂිකාර්මික ගබඩා සංකීර්ණය විවෘත කිරීම සහ භාරදීමේ වැඩසටහන සැප්තැම්බර් 08 වන දින පැවැත්විණි.

මෙම ගබඩා සංකීර්ණය ඉදිකිරීම සඳහා රුපියල් මිලියන 9.94ක ප්‍රතිපාදන මුලින් වෙන්කර තිබූ අතර, ලෝක බැංකු මූල්‍ය ප්‍රතිපාදන යටතේ 2021 ජූලි මාසයේදී ඉදිකිරීම් කටයුතු ආරම්භ කිරීමට පියවර ගෙන තිබිණි.

இந்தக் கிடங்கு வளாகத்தின் கட்டுமானத்திற்காக ஆரம்பத்தில் ரூ. 9.94 மில்லியன் நிதி ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்பட்டு, உலக வங்கியின் நிதி உதவியின் கீழ் 2021 ஜூலையில் கட்டுமானப் பணிகளைத் தொடங்க நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்கப்பட்டன.

The opening and handover ceremony of the Wanela OFC Agricultural Storage Complex, constructed with the assistance of the Eastern Provincial Department of Agriculture, was held on September 8th under the patronage of the Governor of the Eastern Province, Mr. Jayantha Lal Ratnasekera.

An allocation of Rs. 9.94 million was initially allocated for the construction of this warehouse complex, and steps were taken to commence construction work in July 2021 under World Bank financial provisions.

However, due to the lack of sufficient financial provisions, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the economic crisis and inflationary situation prevailing in the country, construction work had to be temporarily suspended in the first quarter of 2022.

Later, after an additional allocation of Rs. 2.40 million was reallocated under the PSDG/2025 program, the remaining construction work could be completed in 2025.

This storage complex, which has a storage capacity of 150 metric tons, will provide the necessary facilities for the safe storage of agricultural products of the farmers in the Wanela area.

The Governor also officially handed over the completed OFC storage complex to the Wanela Darshana Bodhiya Producers' Association.

The Governor stated that attention has been focused on further developing such infrastructure facilities to create better market opportunities for the farmers' products, minimize post-harvest losses and increase the economic strength of the farmers.

නැගෙනහිර පළාත් ආණ්ඩුකාර ජයන්ත ලාල් රත්නසේකර මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන්, නැගෙනහිර පළාත් කෘෂිකර්ම දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ ප්‍රතිපාදන යටතේ ත්‍රිකුණාමලය දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ කෘෂිකාර්මික සංවර්ධන සේවා ඩිජිටල්කරණය කිරීමේ වැඩසටහන යටතේ කෘෂිකර්ම ව්‍යාප්ති සේවා මධ්‍යස්ථාන ඇතුළු ආයතන වෙත ලැප්ටොප් පරිගණක සහ ඩිජිටල් උපකරණ බෙදාදීම ඊයේ (08) සිදු කෙරිණි.

මෙම වැඩසටහන සඳහා රුපියල් මිලියන 20ක සමස්ත ප්‍රතිපාදනයක් වෙන්කර ඇති අතර, ජාල සම්බන්ධතා පහසුකම් සහිත ලැප්ටොප් පරිගණක 40ක් මෙහිදී ලබාදීමට කටයුතු කර ඇත. දිස්ත්‍රික් කාර්යාලය සහ පුහුණු මධ්‍යස්ථාන සඳහා ස්මාර්ට් පුවරු සහ ඡායා පිටපත් යන්ත්‍ර ඇතුළු ඩිජිටල් පහසුකම් ද සැපයීමට කටයුතු කර තිබේ.

ඒ අනුව ලැප්ටොප් පරිගණක බෙදාදීම පහත පරිදි සිදුකර ඇත.

கிழக்கு மாகாண ஆளுநர் திரு. ஜயந்தலால் ரத்னசேகர அவர்களின் தலைமையில், கிழக்கு மாகாண விவசாயத் திணைக்களத்தின் விதிகளின் கீழ் விவசாய அபிவிருத்தி சேவைகளை டிஜிட்டல் மயமாக்கும் திட்டத்தின் கீழ், திருகோணமலை மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள விவசாய விரிவாக்க சேவை மையங்கள் மற்றும் பிற நிறுவனங்களுக்கு மடிக்கணினிகள் மற்றும் டிஜிட்டல் சாதனங்கள் வழங்கும் பணி நேற்று (08) மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டது.

இத்திட்டத்திற்காக மொத்தம் ரூ. 20 மில்லியன் ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்பட்டு, இணைய இணைப்பு வசதிகளுடன் கூடிய 40 மடிக்கணினிகள் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. மாவட்ட அலுவலகம் மற்றும் பயிற்சி மையங்களுக்கு ஸ்மார்ட் பலகைகள் மற்றும் நகல் எடுக்கும் இயந்திரங்கள் உள்ளிட்ட டிஜிட்டல் வசதிகளை வழங்கவும் நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

A program to distribute laptops and digital devices to Agricultural Extension Service Centers

Under the patronage of the Governor of the Eastern Province, Mr. Jayantha Lal Ratnasekera, the distribution of laptops and digital devices to Agricultural Extension Service Centers and other institutions in the Trincomalee District under the program to digitize agricultural development services under the provisions of the Eastern Provincial Department of Agriculture was carried out yesterday (08).

A total provision of Rs. 20 million has been allocated for this program, and 40 laptops with network connectivity facilities have been provided. Steps have also been taken to provide digital facilities including smart boards and photocopiers for the district office and training centers.

Accordingly, the distribution of laptops has been carried out as follows.

Agricultural Extension Service Centers – 22

Training Centers – 05

District Office – 12

Soil Laboratory – 01

Total – 40

The main objective of this program is to improve the digital capabilities, efficiency and accessibility of agricultural extension services, to provide more efficient and faster services to the farming community using technology, and to further strengthen the agricultural development of the Trincomalee District.

Governor Jayantha Lal Ratnasekera emphasized that such programs will be implemented in the future to build a modern agricultural extension service system that can quickly provide the necessary information and technical advice to the farming community by incorporating modern technology more widely into the agricultural sector.

නැගෙනහිර පළාත් ආණ්ඩුකාර ජයන්ත ලාල් රත්නසේකර මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන්, නැගෙනහිර පළාත් කෘෂිකර්ම දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ ප්‍රතිපාදන යටතේ කන්තලේ ප්‍රදේශයේ ගොවි ජනතාව සඳහා කෘෂිකාර්මික යෙදවුම් සහ මූල්‍ය ප්‍රතිලාභ ලබාදීමේ වැඩසටහනක් ඊයේ (08) පැවැත්විණි.

2026 වර්ෂය සඳහා PSDG වැඩසටහන යටතේ දිස්ත්‍රික්කයට වෙන්කර ඇති සමස්ත ප්‍රතිපාදන මුදල රුපියල් මිලියන 160ක් වන අතර, එයින් කන්තලේ කොට්ඨාසය සඳහා රුපියල් මිලියන 20.75ක ප්‍රතිපාදන වෙන්කර ඇත.

එම ප්‍රතිපාදන යටතේ,

බීජ සඳහා – රු. මිලියන 3.05

කෘෂි ළිං (Agro-wells) සඳහා – රු. මිලියන 4.00

මුදල් සහනාධාර සඳහා – රු. මිලියන 5.70

ගොවි දායකත්වය 50%ක් සහිත කෘෂිකාර්මික යෙදවුම් සඳහා – රු. මිලියන 8.00

වශයෙන් ප්‍රතිපාදන වෙන්කර තිබේ.

මෙහිදී ගොවි ජනතාවගේ කෘෂිකාර්මික කටයුතු වඩාත් කාර්යක්ෂම කරමින් නිෂ්පාදන ඵලදායීතාව ඉහළ නැංවීමේ අරමුණින් තණකොළ කපන යන්ත්‍ර, ඩීසල්/භූමිතෙල්/විදුලි හා ගිල්විය හැකි ජල පොම්ප, ස්ප්‍රින්ක්ලර් වාරිමාර්ග පද්ධති, සූර්ය බලයෙන් ක්‍රියාත්මක වන වාරිමාර්ග පද්ධති, පවර් ස්ප්‍රේයර් ඇතුළු කෘෂිකාර්මික උපකරණ හා යෙදවුම් ලබාදීමට කටයුතු කර ඇත.

கிழக்கு மாகாண விவசாயத் திணைக்களத்தின் விதிமுறைகளின் கீழ், கந்தலே பகுதி விவசாயிகளுக்கு விவசாய உள்ளீடுகள் மற்றும் நிதிப் பலன்களை வழங்கும் நிகழ்ச்சி ஒன்று, கிழக்கு மாகாண ஆளுநர் திரு. ஜயந்தலால் ரத்னசேகர அவர்களின் தலைமையில் நேற்று (08) நடைபெற்றது.

2026 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான PSDG திட்டத்தின் கீழ் மாவட்டத்திற்கு ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட மொத்த நிதி ஒதுக்கீடு ரூ. 160 மில்லியன் ஆகும், இதில் ரூ. 20.75 மில்லியன் கந்தலே பிரிவுக்கு ஒதுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

மேற்கூறிய ஒதுக்கீட்டின் கீழ்,

விவசாயிகளின் விவசாய நடவடிக்கைகளை மேலும் திறமையானதாக மாற்றுவதையும், அவர்களின் உற்பத்தித்திறனை அதிகரிப்பதையும் நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டு, புல்வெட்டும் இயந்திரங்கள், டீசல்/மண்ணெண்ணெய்/மின்சார மற்றும் நீரில் மூழ்கும் நீர் இறைப்பிகள், தெளிப்பு நீர்ப்பாசன அமைப்புகள், சூரிய சக்தியால் இயங்கும் நீர்ப்பாசன அமைப்புகள், சக்திவாய்ந்த தெளிப்பான்கள் உள்ளிட்ட விவசாய உபகரணங்கள் மற்றும் உள்ளீடுகளை வழங்க நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

A program to provide agricultural inputs and financial benefits to the farmers of the Kantale area under the provisions of the Eastern Provincial Department of Agriculture was held yesterday (08) under the patronage of the Governor of the Eastern Province, Mr. Jayantha Lal Ratnasekera.

The total allocation allocated to the district under the PSDG program for the year 2026 is Rs. 160 million, of which Rs. 20.75 million has been allocated for the Kantale division.

Under the said allocation,

For seeds – Rs. 3.05 million

For agricultural wells (Agro-wells) – Rs. 4.00 million

For cash subsidies – Rs. 5.70 million

For agricultural inputs with 50% farmer contribution – Rs. 8.00 million

has been allocated.

With the aim of making the agricultural activities of the farmers more efficient and increasing their productivity, steps have been taken to provide agricultural equipment and inputs including lawn mowers, diesel/kerosene/electric and submersible water pumps, sprinkler irrigation systems, solar-powered irrigation systems, power sprayers.

The Governor emphasized that such programs will be implemented in the future as well, using the Provincial Council provisions effectively to improve the economic and living conditions of the farmers and to bring the necessary agricultural facilities and equipment closer to the farmers.
