ANC Political Leader Alexander B. Cummings comes in defense of Cllr. Moriah Yeakula following a wave of criticism and attacks against her on social media recently as he writes 👇
"At no time was an appointment of a Chief of Staff made yesterday by my office. As noted in the ANC Statement, Cllr. Moriah Yeakula is a distinguished member and officer of the ANC serving as Vice Chair for Legal Affairs. She has been and is fearlessly loyal to me and to us and we will fearlessly protect and defend her. While many "hide their hands" in supporting me, she has not and as a result, is being cruelly and viciously attacked. We will not let the attackers get away with that.
Moriah has built a solid reputation for herself, backed by her impeccable character and no amount of smear campaign can change that. Her family, marriage or personal life will not be used to define her now or ever.
AND FINALLY FOR THE RECORD:
I will ALWAYS support and defend Moriah and reciprocate her loyalty and support of me. She and I do not always agree, but she has never shared our disagreement publicly. She is the consummate example of a good and true team player who focuses on our end goal, understanding that we will sometimes disagree on the means to achieving that goal-gaining State Power to benefit ALL Liberians.
Moriah remains an asset to not just the ANC, but to our nation-building, women's rights and the advancement of women and girls and it will not be buried under the rubbles of a crashing political propaganda machinery. "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!"

Our political leader, Mr. Cummings, engages with students at SDA High School at ELWA Junction reminding them that the future can be better, and that they deserve better.
Standing together with these bright young minds is a powerful reminder that Liberia’s hope lies in its youth. With the right leadership and opportunities, their dreams are valid and achievable.
Good jobs, quality healthcare, clean water, reliable electricity, good roads, safe communities, and strong border protection are not luxuries they are necessities.

Alexander Cummings Engages with Young Professionals in Paynesville, Montserrado County Liberia
Alexander Cummings is meeting with Liberians throughout the country to address their concerns about the country's future. One student asked, "We tried UP, we tried CDC, these politicians have not changed much in Liberia, what can you do differently?" Alexander Cummings answered that his experience working in a multi-billion dollar corporation, his love for the country coming from Point 4, and his pride in all of his contributions in education, healthcare, and women's empowerment set him apart. Mr. Cummings being audited so many times without any complaint shows high integrity.
Another student asked as a private citizen, why can't Mr. Cummings fix the country now? Mr. Cummings answered that Liberians did not ask Mr. Weah or Mr. Bokai what they did for Liberia before making them President. Even still, Mr. Cummings went on to list just some of his contributions such as paying over 2,000 students' WAEC fees, and providing hundreds of students with scholarships to college and law school, installing computer labs in LU and AMEU and other schools, building engineering colleges in Nimba, building clinics, and providing millions in healthcare supplies during EBOLA and COVID. Mr. Cummings informed the student that he has done a lot more and the list is so long he could not read it all. Mr. Cummings included that he has two businesses in Liberia one is successful, one is not doing as well and that he does employ Liberias but to be fair to his business partners and the employees, and to avoid political sabotage, he continues not to discuss the specific names of the businesses.
Yet, with 5 million people in the country and 2 million needing jobs, Mr. Cummings stated that a private citizen cannot fix these issues, but as President, he can transform the system and change the future of the country for the better. One student stood up and said that he had followed Mr. Cummings since 2017 and if he could just make him President, he believes he will change the country, and dedicated his full support to Alexander Cummings and the ANC.

ANC Expresses No Confidence in NEC Acting Chairman Jonathan Weedor; Urges Liberian Senate to Act in Line with the Law
The Alternative National Congress (ANC) has expressed no confidence in Mr. Jonathan K. Weedor as Acting Chairperson of the National Elections Commission (NEC), citing concerns over his independence and neutrality.
In a press release issued on Thursday, April 2, 2026, the party referenced Mr. Weedor’s conduct during the 2023 general and presidential elections, including a widely circulated video in which he appeared to support and prematurely declare a Unity Party victory while allegedly being linked to its campaign operations. The ANC noted that this raises serious questions about his impartiality and suitability to lead the country’s electoral body.
The ANC also pointed to his close relationship with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, warning that such ties could undermine public confidence in the NEC and the credibility of future elections.
The party is therefore calling on the Liberian Senate to conduct a thorough, transparent, and independent review of the nomination to ensure that the NEC remains free from political influence and is led by an individual who meets the legal standards of neutrality and integrity.
