How to Use "Due To" Correctly in Business Writing
Ever wondered whether to use due to or because of? Many people use them interchangeably, but there's a simple rule to get it right!
đč Use "due to" after a form of "to be" (is, was, were, etc.) because it acts like an adjective modifying a noun.
â
The delay was due to technical issues.
â
The cancellation was due to bad weather.
đč Use "because of" to modify a verb.
â We missed the deadline due to a server crash. (Incorrect)
â
We missed the deadline because of a server crash. (Correct!)
đĄ Quick Test: If you can replace due to with caused by, itâs correct!
While this mistake is commonâeven among native speakersâgetting it right adds polish and professionalism to your writing.
Do you have a grammar rule that always confuses you? Drop it in the comments! âŹïž

Why Traditional Language Classes Fail IT Professionals in Real Business Situations đšđ»
If youâve ever taken traditional English classes but still struggle to speak confidently in meetings, negotiate deals, or keep up with fast conversations, youâre not alone.
Hereâs the truth: Most traditional language courses are not designed for real-world business communication. They focus on grammar rules, textbook exercises, and generic vocabularyâbut fail to prepare you for the high-pressure situations you face as an IT professional.
đŽ Why Traditional Classes Donât Work for IT Pros:
â They focus on theory, not practical use.
⥠You learn grammar, but not how to handle a tough client call or explain a technical concept to non-IT colleagues.
â They donât train you to think in English.
⥠Youâre stuck translating in your head instead of responding naturally in fast-moving meetings.
â They donât simulate real business scenarios.
⥠Knowing how to conjugate verbs wonât help when your boss unexpectedly asks for a project update in English.
â They ignore the pressure factor.
⥠Speaking in a classroom is easyâbut what about when you're in a high-stakes presentation with international clients?
So Whatâs the Solution?
đĄ The Instant Business English Acceleratorâą takes a different approach:
â
Identify & Unlock â We uncover and fix your biggest speaking barriers so you can start communicating with ease.
â
Speak with Structure â You learn business-specific frameworks to express ideas clearly in meetings and emails.
â
Think in English â You train your brain to respond automatically instead of mentally translating every word.
â
Perform Under Pressure â You practice in realistic business simulations so you're fully prepared when it matters most.
If youâre tired of traditional methods that donât deliver results, it's time to try an approach that actually works.

đ§ How to Train Your Brain to Think in EnglishâEven If Youâre Stuck Translating Now
Have you ever been in an international meeting, trying to follow the conversation, but your brain just wonât keep up? You hear something, translate it in your head, think of a response in your language, translate it back⊠and by then, the discussion has already moved on. đ©
The problem isnât your vocabulary or grammarâitâs that your brain isnât trained to think directly in English yet.
Hereâs how you can fix that and start responding faster and more naturally in business conversations:
1ïžâŁ Think in Simple English First
Donât aim for perfect sentences in your head. Start small:
đč Instead of thinking âPotĆebuji napsat e-mailâ â then translating â âI need to write an email,â
đč Just think directly: âI need to write an email.â
Train yourself to skip the translation step by practicing with short, simple thoughts.
2ïžâŁ Describe Whatâs Around You (in English!)
Wherever you are, challenge yourself to name objects, actions, and emotions in English.
âĄïž âMy laptop is on the table.â
âĄïž âIâm finishing a project before lunch.â
âĄïž âThis meeting is going well.â
Your brain will get used to forming English sentences instantly, without needing your native language as a bridge.
3ïžâŁ Use an English-to-English Dictionary
If you always translate new words, your brain stays in âtranslation mode.â Instead, use a monolingual dictionary (like Cambridge or Oxford) to understand words in English.
â
Example: Instead of translating âcomplicatedâ â âsloĆŸitĂœâ, learn its meaning in English: âdifficult to understand or explain.â
4ïžâŁ Shadow Native Speakers
Listen to business English podcasts, interviews, or meetings and repeat sentences out loud right after you hear them. This helps your brain process words as English, not as translations.
5ïžâŁ Simulate Business Conversations
The best way to train your brain? Practice real-life business situations in Englishâbefore you actually need them.
Thatâs exactly what we do in The Instant Business English Acceleratorâąâwhere Czech & Slovak IT professionals master real meetings, negotiations, and fast conversations so they can speak with confidenceâwithout getting stuck translating.
đĄ Thinking in English is a skill. And like any skill, it can be trained. The more you practice, the more natural it becomes.
Which of these strategies will you try today? Let me know in the comments! đ
