💼🎤 Friday in the Field!

Good morning from Gainesville, FL! ☀️

Today’s assignment has me at Morgan & Morgan for a 10:30 AM in-person deposition. We’re scheduled until 2:30 PM, but the attorney says we may wrap up a little earlier. 👀🤞🏽

One thing about court reporting… you never know how long your day will actually be! 😂

Laptop ready, equipment set up, and ready to get this record! 💻🎙️

Yesterday’s 2:00 PM hybrid deposition setup in Gainesville, FL was ready to go… but the witness was a no-show. 🤷🏾‍♀️😩 That’s court reporting life—you prepare for everything, even when the proceeding doesn’t happen!

For this hybrid deposition, I came equipped with:

💻 2 laptops — One for the virtual participants/deposition platform and one for my court reporting software.
🔌 USB hub — Because multiple devices mean multiple connections, and I needed everything working together smoothly.
🎙️ Conference speaker/microphone — Essential for capturing clear audio from everyone in the room and allowing the virtual participants to hear clearly.
🎧 Backup recorder — Because when you’re responsible for the record, having backup audio is a MUST!

Hybrid depositions require a little more equipment and preparation because you’re bringing the in-person and virtual worlds together. Even though we didn’t get a record this time, the setup was ready! 🎙️⚖️💻

Prepared anyway. Because you never know until you know. 😂🤷🏾‍♀️

A little day in the life of a Court Reporter + Notary ⚖️🎙️🖊️

Started the morning with a 9AM Zoom hearing, followed by a 10AM Zoom nonjury trial. Plot twist…the trial ended up being cut short and will have to be reset for another day. 😩⚖️ Because one thing about the legal world—the schedule can CHANGE! 😂

Then it was time to switch hats! 👑
