All treats, no tricks. 🎃
Our projects got a scary makeover this Halloween. But under all the makeup, they’re treating people in Europe and beyond to a better life: safer roads, cleaner air, greener energy and even a way to space.
First up: a sea monster in the Gulf of Corinth?
Don’t worry, this bridge can handle it. Rion-Antirion connects the Peloponnese to mainland Greece and is one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in the world. Before it opened, people relied on ferries that bad weather could stop. Now no storm (or kraken) can haunt your crossing.

Caught in the W.E.B.
Spiders love it, and so do we. In Lower Austria, W.E.B is building a new wind farm: four turbines first, then seven more planned for 2027/28. We cover half the cost of the first phase. Clean energy, spun day and night.

PLD Space builds its rockets in a former shoe factory in Elche. In 2023, its Miura 1 became Europe’s first privately developed rocket to reach space. We now back Miura 5, a rocket for small satellites that is being developed to become fully reusable. It’s our first direct investment in small launchers. Out of this world.

Not a highway to hell.
Red eyes in the dark? Just the traffic jams leaving town. A new 9.8 km expressway around Novo Mesto takes traffic out of the city centre: less congestion, safer roads, cleaner air. It also brings more than 6 km of cycle paths and a bridge for bikes and walkers over the Krka river. We finance half of the project.

It’s Thriller night on line 5. 🧟
Vilnius is replacing old diesel and gas buses with up to 161 electric and hydrogen buses, plus 145 charging points. That means less smog and less noise, so you can hear the zombies coming. The city wants to be climate neutral by 2030.
