U.S. Senator from Arizona Mark Kelly visited Moldova May 28-June 1, underscoring the strength of the U.S.-Moldova partnership. In meetings with President Maia Sandu, Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi, and other senior officials and civil society leaders, Senator Kelly highlighted long-standing U.S.-Moldova cooperation in areas ranging from security, democratic reforms, energy, and trade.

American Diplomats Celebrate their Home States

Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Elizabeth Lawrence led Embassy Chisinau's "50 States in 50 Weeks" program yesterday, presenting on her home state of Illinois to students, professionals, and guests at America House Chisinau. Lawrence shared insights into Illinois's rich history, landscapes, culture, and food traditions, highlighting Springfield, Chicago, and her hometown of Peoria. The program advanced Freedom 250 goals by showcasing American excellence and the uniqueness of each of our states to a Moldovan audience.

Have you visited the National History Museum lately? Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Elizabeth Lawrence joined a group of Peace Corps Volunteers at the May 23 opening of a special exhibition showcasing items from nine countries, including the United States. Peace Corps Moldova Volunteers proudly supported the European Night of Museums by welcoming visitors to the exhibition and volunteering throughout the event. The exhibition, which highlights cultural connections and shared heritage, will remain open to visitors through June 23. Pe 24 mai, etapa finală a turneului de minifotbal „Charity Football Cup” a reunit echipele pentru o cauză nobilă. Echipa ambasadei noastre nu doar că a concurat pe teren, ci a sprijinit și un acțiune caritabil alături de toate echipele participante. Fondurile colectate în cadrul turneului au fost folosite pentru a dona echipamente sportive și două televizoare Școlii Sportive „Gloria” și Gimnaziului „Taras Șevcenko” din Chișinău.

Ne-am bucurat să urmărim în acest sezon meciuri de fotbal din Moldova la toate nivelurile, de la FC Zimbru și FC Sheriff până la FC Sireți. Felicitări tuturor echipelor care au câștigat categoriile lor!
Așteptăm cu nerăbdare o vară plină de fotbal și diplomație sportivă în Statele Unite și continuarea celebrării spiritului de fair-play și a lucrului de echipă.

24 мая финальный этап турнира по мини-футболу «Charity Football Cup» собрал команды ради благородной цели. Команда нашего посольства не только приняла участие в матчах на поле, но и поддержала благотворительную инициативу вместе со всеми участниками турнира. Средства, собранные в ходе турнира, были направлены на приобретение спортивного инвентаря и двух телевизоров для Спортивной школы «Глория» и гимназии «Тарас Шевченко» в Кишинёве.

Нам было приятно посещать футбольные матчи в Молдове на разных уровнях в этом сезоне — от FC Zimbru и FC Sheriff до FC Sireți. Поздравляем все команды, победившие в своих категориях!
Мы с нетерпением ждём лета, наполненного футболом и спортивной дипломатией в Соединённых Штатах, а также продолжения празднования духа честной игры и командной работы.

On May 24, the final stage of the mini-soccer tournament “Charity Football Cup” brought teams together for a great cause. Our embassy team not only competed on the field but also supported a charitable effort alongside all participating teams. Funds raised during the tournament helped donate sports equipment and two TVs to the “Gloria” Sports School and the “Taras Shevchenko” Gymnasium in Chișinău. We've been glad to attend Moldovan football matches at a variety of levels this season, from FC Zimbru Chisinau and FC Sheriff to FC REAL Sireți. Congratulations to all teams that won their categories! We're looking forward to a summer full of football and sports diplomacy in the United States and to celebrating sportsmanship and teamwork.
