Transit CNMI: Connecting Our Community Through Public Transportation

The Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority (COTA) is a federally funded agency under the Office of the Governor. COTA provides public transportation service through the use of their 7-seater vans, Call-a-Ride Service, to currently serve the community. By providing public transportation accessible to all ages to make crossing wide and costly distances more affordable and safe.

Post Typhoon Sinlaku Recovery: June 3, 2026

Official Update from the Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority, Office of the Governor & Lt. Governor:

COTA remains activated to support the CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management Operations Center for shelter transportation and other transportation needs during recovery. COTA has transported over 1,407 shelterees, first responders, and individuals with medical needs.

CURRENT OPERATIONS:

Call-A-Ride Rota (CARR) is fully operational. Please call (670) 236-2682 to make your reservations.

Call-A-Ride Tinian (CART) is fully operational. Please call (670) 236-2682 to make your reservations.

Call-A-Ride Saipan (CARS) has resumed normal operational hours, open on Sunday-Saturday from 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM. Please call (670) 236-2682 to make your reservations 2 days in advance.

Transit CNMI Fixed Route Blue Line 1B continues to operate under modified operational hours, open Sunday-Saturday from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. With missing bus stop signs, please raise your hand to flag down our drivers before the bus arrives.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue working to restore all services. We will continue to provide updates as conditions improve.

Super Typhoon Sinlaku: Emergency Transportation Activation

Official update from the Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority as of 6/3/2026 at 0600.

The Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority, in collaboration with the CNMI Homeland Security Emergency Management has coordinated and carried out over 1,407 transports during the emergency transportation activation for Super Typhoon Sinlaku.

We have transported 343 shelterees, 921 individuals with medical needs, 18 military personnel, 52 first responders from the airport, and 73 individuals with other transport needs.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Effective June 1, 2026, the Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority (COTA) will implement revised operational hours.

The Call-A-Ride Saipan (CARS) Demand Responsive Shared Ride service will resume normal operations. Operational hours are from Sunday-Saturday from 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM. Additionally, fares will resume back to normal pricing at $7.00 for general riders and $5.00 for discounted riders (students, elderly people with disabilities, and veterans).

The Transit CNMI Fixed Route Blue Line 1B will modify operational hours. Operational hours are from Sunday- Saturday from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Fares remain the same as normal pricing at $2.00 for general riders and $1.00 for discounted riders (students, elderly people with disabilities, and veterans).
