Engaging in physical training is a non-negotiable aspect of soldiering. A physically fit peacekeeper is an asset to his unit and a reliable protector of civilians.

Driving Cadre
Service drivers undertaking refresher lessons that capacitate them to effectively drive and recover service vehicles when they deploy to eastern DRC. Maintaining troops' road safety and equipment readiness are important Force Protection aspects in a multi-dimensional PSOs, especially as troops undertake their main task - Protection of Civilians (POC).

Train to counter the element of surprise
Troops conducting Explosive Hazardous Awareness Training (EHAT) during Pre-deployment training. Anything that may look ordinary can be hazardous as well as explosive. Peace Support Operations have over time become dangerous, with growing and significant Force Protection concerns. Understanding such realities informs the Peace Support Operations Training Centre's training, with high quality training being offered to Malawian troops before they deploy.

New Partnerships-Future Collaboration
Recently, the Peace Support Training Centre held discussions with the French Army. The discussions focused on potential collaboration in various areas including enhancing peacekeepers security and conduct of intelligence in peace support operations.
Malawi continues to enjoy warm relationship with France since the former’s independence. Previously, the French Army has provided support in military education and equipment, among others.
