Today is a very meaningful day as the Chinese celebrate Chinese New Year Eve by enjoying a reunion dinner with their families. We would like to wish those celebrating a wonderful CNY eve as well as wonderful time with the families and loved ones. 除夕快乐，恭喜发财！

𝗞𝗘𝗡𝗬𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗔𝗡 𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗠𝗜
Minggu lalu, Malaysia dilanda banjir terburuk sejak 50 tahun. Ramai rakyat Malaysia kehilangan tempat tinggal dan harta benda. Kanak-kanak yang bersekolah juga terkesan akibat banjir kilat ini. Buku-buku dibasahi dengan air lumpur dan alat-alat tulis mereka dihanyutkan air.
Di Projek Didik Muda, kami juga terkesan kerana rumah beberapa orang ahli jawatankuasa kami tidak terlepas daripada malapetaka ini. Jabatan Meteorologi meramalkan cuaca ini akan berlanjutan sehingga bulan Februari 2022. Oleh kerana segelintir peserta tinggal di kawasan berisiko tinggi, kami juga bimbang dengan keadaan yang tidak menentu.
Dengan ini, kami akan MENUNDA TARIKH PENGGAL AKADEMIK PERTAMA 2022 ke 16 FEBRUARI 2022. Majlis pelancaran juga ditunda ke 13 FEBRUARI 2022. Tarikh-tarikh ini ditetapkan supaya semua pihak, sama ada ahli-ahli jawatankuasa, tenaga pengajar, sukarelawan dan peserta-peserta dapat menyertai projek pendidikan kami tanpa rasa bimbing dengan keadaan cuaca.
Di sini juga, kami ingin mengucapkan ribuan terima kasih kepada sukarelawan dan sukarelawati dari semua lapisan masyarakat yang bertungkus-lumus menolong mereka yang terjejas akibat banjir ini.

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹.
Winter Solstice is 冬至 [Dōng Zhì] in Chinese Mandarin. 冬 [D**g] mean winter. 至 [Zhi] means extreme, or arrival. 冬至 [Dōng Zhì] literally means the “extreme of winter.”
D**g Zhi marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. The winter cold days start on this day according to the Chinese calendar. This is also the day that your shadow measures the longest under the sun.
People will eat Tang Yuán [湯圓], the glutinous rice balls. Tang Yuán sounds like “Tuán Yuán [團圓]” that means “reunion”. Therefore, the Chinese associate Tang Yuán [湯圓] with the meaning of family reunion.
