🔥 Day 3 Afternoon & Closing Highlights: NICE 26 Ends on a High

The afternoon began with an electrifying session, “Show Me the Money: Driving Returns From Malaysia’s R&D Ringgit”, featuring Ashran Dato’ Ghazi, Chief Executive Officer of MRANTI, and Shahril Hamdan, Host of Keris & Silicon.

A packed audience witnessed a candid and thought-provoking exchange on turning Malaysia’s R&D investments into stronger commercial returns, with lively questions and discussions from the floor.

We were also honoured to welcome YB Dato’ Dr. Haji Mohammad Yusof Apdal, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), who participated in a NICE 26 Podcast session before touring the exhibition and engaging with our exhibitors and innovators.

YB Deputy Minister later officiated the Closing Ceremony of NICE 26, which featured:

🌏 Day 3 Morning Highlights: Scaling Malaysian Innovation to the World

The final day of NICE 26 is off to a strong start, with an enthusiastic crowd across the conference, exhibition and podcast sessions!

Prof. Rainer Kattel opened the morning with a thought-provoking keynote on designing business models around national challenges, followed by a fireside chat with Ashran Dato’ Ghazi, Chief Executive Officer of MRANTI, exploring what Malaysia must do differently to turn innovation into market creation.

The conversation continued with two engaging panels examining what investors truly look for and how Malaysian companies can develop into global champions. The sessions brought together leading voices from Gobi Partners, Rakuten Capital, Bintang Capital Partners, FunnelEvo, Vista Robotics and SkyeChip.

Beyond the conference, visitors continued to explore the exciting innovations presented by our exhibitors and enjoy insightful conversations through the NICE 26 Podcast.

We were also delighted to welcome groups from educational institutions, our young future innovators, who experienced the ideas, technologies and possibilities shaping Malaysia’s future.

✨ Day 2 at NICE 26: Innovation in Action

What an incredible Day 2 at NICE 26!

The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre was buzzing with energy as innovators, researchers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, students and visitors came together to explore everything NICE 26 had to offer. The fantastic turnout and enthusiasm throughout the venue made the day truly memorable.

A major highlight was the official launch of NICE 26 by YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia. The ceremony featured the Malaysia Commercialisation Year (MCY) 2025 Awards, MySTI Awards and the exchange of Memoranda of Understanding and Memoranda of Agreement, followed by the Prime Minister’s tour of the exhibition hall.

The conference opened with an engaging Ministerial Dialogue featuring YB Datuk Chang Lih Kang, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, and YB Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives. This was followed by insightful sessions exploring science, health, longevity, biotechnology and national resilience.

Under the theme **“Science for Life: Bioeconomy, Health and National Resilience”**, the afternoon programme continued with insightful discussions on science, health, longevity, biotechnology and the development of a more resilient and sustainable nation. The Commercialisation Funding Presentation, Strategic Partnership Exchange and Product Launch further demonstrated how innovation can move from ideas to real-world impact.

Beyond the main conference, visitors enjoyed an exciting array of innovations presented by our exhibitors. The NICE 26 Podcast also featured an enlightening conversation between YB Datuk Chang Lih Kang and Ashran Dato’ Ghazi, Chief Executive Officer of MRANTI, on transforming research into meaningful impact and rethinking Malaysia’s innovation economy.

Our Pocket Talks continued to be a big hit, delivering engaging and accessible conversations throughout the day. The Pitching Session by CRADLE, business matching activities and other satellite programmes created even more opportunities for innovators, investors and industry partners to connect, exchange ideas and explore future collaborations.

Day 2 truly reflected the spirit of NICE 26-a vibrant meeting point where ideas were shared, partnerships were formed and innovation moved closer to the market.

The Prime Minister is here at NICE 26!

YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, has officially launched the National Innovation and Commercialisation Expo 2026 (NICE 26) during the Opening Ceremony at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

The ceremony also featured the presentation of the Malaysia Commercialisation Year (MCY) 2025 Awards and MySTI Awards, as well as the exchange of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Memoranda of Agreement (MoAs).

Under the theme “Mission to Market: Malaysia to the World”, NICE 26 brings together Malaysia’s innovation ecosystem to transform research and ideas into market-ready solutions with global potential.
