CHOW KIT ROAD
Did you know? The infamous Chow Kit area in KL was actually named after a Penang boy who made it big!
While most of us think of Jalan Chow Kit as that bustling (and sometimes notorious) area in KL with its huge market and amazing street food, the story behind its name is pretty fascinating...
Meet Loke Chow Kit - a true blue Penangite who became one of KL's biggest business tycoons! 🌟
Born in Penang to Mr. Loke K*m Choon, young Chow Kit studied at Penang Free School before climbing the corporate ladder at Katz Bros and later Huttenbach & Co. When Huttenbach expanded to KL, they sent him there as assistant manager. He later worked with the legendary Loke Yew before starting his own mega-successful company!
Fun fact: His brother was Loke Chow Thye - yes, the same guy Jalan Chow Thye in Penang is named after! 👨👦👦
When Chow Kit passed away on 28 August 1918, true to his Penang roots, his body was brought back by steamship to his beloved island. His final journey started from 87 Bishop Street to his eternal rest at Mount Erskine Cemetery.
The 1908 "Twentieth Century Impressions of Malaya" described him living at the grand Loke Hall in KL - quite a journey for our Penang boy! 🌅
So next time you're shopping at Chow Kit Market or grabbing some late-night snack there, remember - you're walking on a street named after one of Penang's most successful sons! 🏆

WHAT IS DEMOCRACY?
I've heard this all my life... and also used the word all my life... But then I realized, maybe I don't fully understand the word, the concept and the implementation of democracy.... So I asked Google.
Democracy, literally, rule by the people.
The term is derived from the Greek dēmokratia, which was coined from dēmos (“people”) and kratos (“rule”) in the middle of the 5th century BCE to denote the political systems then existing in some Greek city-states, notably Athens.
Sooooo, when it says rule by the people... which people? who are these people? what about the minorities? Stay tune for part 2 of What is Democracy... by Ah Song Online Learning
"So... u say it's guideline only. Is it compulsory guideline or optional guideline?"

GUIDE TO CHINESE GHOST... Part 1
The Chinese Ghost Month is here... Again.
Below a guide to the various types of Chinese ghost to help you panic properly when you meet them during their holiday month.
The first thing you want to note when you bump into a Chinese ghost is whether it floats or hops.
If it hops around with outstretched hands, that means it is a "jiāngshī" , aka Chinese hopping vampire. They are circa Ching Dynasty and tends to be quite well dress - full Mandarin attire. The good news is, you can stop them by placing a yellow paper with written red lettering on the ghost's forehead. Be careful when doing this because they do bite.
Now, if they float, then you need to see whether they just float along the ground or fly.
Men ghost can only scoot along the ground but lady ghosts can either float and/or fly. Dunno why. Maybe it has got to do with men having balls. Not sure.
Anyway, note that when the lady ghost flies, they will let out sharp shrill laughter of happiness as they fly... N they usually either fly in circles or in a straight line, back and forth.
Next, you need to see the color of their gown. All Chinese ghost wear transparent long gown - quite sexy. And ALL have very long jet black hair, except the Mama Lady Ghost - she has white hair...
Japanese ghost follows the Chinese in fashion - white gown long untidy hair.
But whereas Japanese ghost crawls out of Sony TVs, Chinese ghost walks out from walls or trees or jumps out from bushes. Oh... Btw they all go to them same Nail Spa - all have long fingernails painted red.
If the gown is white, they are normal ghost. Not so scary. Can bincang.
BUT!!! If you see a Chinese ghost in RED GOWN, holding a pair of scissors then you really need to panic. Could be the ghost of the girl you teased in kindergarten and didn't marry..
Now if the ghost is under 12 years old, they are call "kwai chai" (ghost child). If the "kwai chai" looks like a Malay, we call it "toyol"... U can feed them with those small round crusted colorful sugar biscuits... They like.
Also, if the ghost appear when u put out food and joss sticks... These are hungry ghost...
If loitering in Genting..
It's a Gambling Ghost...
If hide in Women toilet... It's definitely a "ham sap kwei" (Wet Ham Ghost).
Of late there's a new type of ghost roaming around... Hands in front of chest, head bow down... Walk without looking up.. SMART PHONE GHOST!
To be continued...

One day a BossKu supporter drove his car to Ipoh from KL, along the road at Tanjong Rambutan he had a car flat tyre. It was raining heavily, he waited until the rain stop and started to change the flat tyre with the spare tyre. He removed the nuts from the wheel and put them next to the monsoon drain. When he was trying to fix the spare tyre onto the car, he slipped and accidentally kick all the nuts into the monsoon drain. He tried retrieving the nuts however unable, water was gushing down the monsoon drain after the heavy rain.
A guy was sitting nearby watching the BossKu supporter trying to replace the tyre and witnessed the whole incident. BossKu supporter was shaking his head and very upset as he has no nuts to bolt the spare tyre into the car. He asked for help from the guy sitting nearby.
The guy told the BossKu supporter, it can be easily resolved just by removing one nut from each wheel and temporarily use it to bolt the spare tyre wheel onto the car.
The BossKu supporter was amazed by the suggestion and he did what was suggested.
After fixing the tyre, the BossKu supporter turn to the guy nearby offering him a lift home. The guy nearby told the BossKu supporter, no need... pointing to the big building nearby which states Hospital Bahagia Tanjong Rambutan.
It was a surprise to the BossKu supporter, you mean you are a patient here... how come you are staying here... you are so smart....
The guy replied...
"Unlike u... I maybe CRAZY but Not Stupid...."
