The Government-Industry TVET Coordination Body (GITC) successfully held the MoU Exchange Ceremony with strategic industry and institutional partners in strengthening collaboration between the TVET ecosystem and industry players.

Through this meaningful engagement, GITC exchanged Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with organisations from various sectors, reaffirming a shared commitment towards enhancing TVET talent development, employability, and industry-driven workforce readiness.

Among the organisations involved were ASteel, Batteriku, BonusLink, Malaysia-China Institute (MCI), Pearson, PERKESO, Siemens, and Theta Edge Berhad.

The collaboration focuses on:
- Strengthening industry-driven TVET training aligned with workforce demands
- Expanding Work-Based Learning (WBL) and employment opportunities for TVET graduates
- Enhancing upskilling and reskilling initiatives to ensure graduates remain future-ready
- Encouraging strategic partnerships between academia, industry, and government agencies

The ceremony reflects GITC’s continuous efforts in bridging the gap between industry and TVET institutions while supporting the national agenda of producing a highly skilled and competitive workforce.

GITC extends its appreciation to all participating organisations and representatives for their commitment and support towards advancing the TVET ecosystem in Malaysia.

GITC held a productive engagement meeting with McDonald’s Malaysia / Gerbang Alaf Restaurants Sdn. Bhd. at Menara TH Damansara Uptown.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Azhar Darbi, Senior VP and Chief People Officer of McDonald’s Malaysia / Gerbang Alaf Restaurants Sdn. Bhd., together with Mr. Ragunathan Marthammuthu, GITC Board Member, and Khairul Affendy Bin Mohamad Taher, Business Development Manager, GITC.

The discussion focused on strategic collaboration through Akademi Vokasional McDonald’s Malaysia, structured Work-Based Learning pathways, premium salary opportunities, and industry-led certification programmes.

Key areas explored include food preparation and services, fast food operations and supervision, barista services, and building operations and maintenance.

Moving forward, McDonald’s Malaysia / Gerbang Alaf Restaurants Sdn. Bhd. has agreed to sign an MOU with GITC and onboard onto the Government TVET Placement Centre (GTPC) platform to access talent from the MOHE ecosystem and support training pathways for both new and existing staff.

This engagement reflects GITC’s continued commitment to strengthening industry-TVET collaboration and creating meaningful career pathways for Malaysian talent.

INDUSTRY SUPPORTS GTPC INITIATIVE, DIGITAL PLATFORM TO STRENGTHEN TVET GRADUATE CAREER PLACEMENT

The Government-Industry TVET Coordination Body (GITC) hosted the Pre-Launch Ceremony of the GITC TVET Placement Centre (GTPC), an AI-powered digital platform developed to strengthen career placement opportunities for TVET graduates in line with current industry demands.

The Pre-Launch Ceremony of the GITC TVET Placement Centre (GTPC) received official support from the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) as part of ongoing efforts to enhance TVET graduate employability and strengthen collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and industry players.

GTPC functions as a platform to match graduates with job opportunities, industrial training, and Work-Based Learning (WBL) placements across 23 economic sectors nationwide. In addition to graduate placements, the platform also includes industrial attachment opportunities for TVET lecturers and instructors.

GITC aims to attract the participation of 10,000 companies within two years to further strengthen the national TVET ecosystem through a more progressive, inclusive, and industry-driven approach.

The pre-launch ceremony marks an important milestone towards the official launch of GTPC, which will take place on 6 June 2026 in Putrajaya in conjunction with National TVET Day.
