[ENG] “I heard this sound every day at my hotel, but I didn’t know what it was,” commented this lovely couple from Poland during their visit to Crystal Mosque.

We explained to them that the sound they had been hearing every day was the adzan (call to prayer), which is announced five times a day to remind Muslims that it is time to perform their prayers.

It was a pleasure to answer their questions about the adzan and help them understand the sound they had been hearing throughout their stay in Malaysia.

[ENG] A young visitor from Beijing 🇨🇳 was curious to see a prayer in person, so we invited him into the mosque and asked him to observe from the back. He watched from the beginning until the end of the prayer, including the du‘a and the handshakes among the congregation afterwards.

We then continued our conversation about the mosque and prayer. He also picked up some pamphlets and two books about Islam in Chinese. May Allah make it easy for him to understand the true teaching of Islam.

[ENG] “Back then, we always thought that women in Islam were considered inferior to men. But things are different now, right? Men and women are equal?”

This was what a group of aunties from KL asked us when they came across our pamphlet about women’s rights and hijab.

So we had a little chat with them about what Islam actually says about women’s rights. One of the things we shared was about marriage. In Islam, providing for the wife is actually the husband’s responsibility, her accommodation, food, clothing and other basic needs, according to what he can afford.

Even if the wife earns more than her husband, her salary and wealth still belong to her. She doesn’t have to use her money to support the marriage. Of course, if she wants to help her husband and contribute to the family, that’s perfectly fine.

Then came the next question: “So, is it still practice like this today?”

We said, “Yes, that’s still the principle. But real life can sometimes be different.” With today’s economic challenges and rising cost of living, many wives also help their husbands financially and share the family expenses.

Quite an interesting conversation with the aunties today. Sometimes a simple pamphlet can lead to a really good discussion.

Kami jawab, “Ya, prinsipnya masih sama.

[ENG] Yesterday at the Crystal Mosque, I met Laurens (Netherlands) and his partner (Colombia). Laurens grew up Protestant, later became Catholic, and eventually chose to follow no religion. Yet he remains genuinely curious to explore and learn about the world's religions. A short conversation filled with respect and curiosity. 🕌🌍

[ENG] “Thank you for introducing Islam to us.”
This lovely family from Korea has been living in Malaysia for almost two years to continue their studies. During their visit to Crystal Mosque, we introduced them to the basics of Islamic prayer (solat) and demonstrated how Muslims perform their prayers. They were happy to follow along and try the prayer movements themselves.

It was a pleasure to see their willingness to learn more about Islam and experience something new. Through visits like this, we hope to help visitors gain a better understanding of Islamic practices and the meaning behind them.

Thank you for visiting Crystal Mosque!

[ENG] “Do you get many tourists from Korea here?”

Two visitors from Korea 🇰🇷 stopped by Crystal Mosque today. They had visited a mosque in Turkey before, and this time, they took the opportunity to explore Crystal Mosque and ask us lots of questions. We shared with them some basics about mosque architecture, prayer, and the Islamic understanding of God.

[ENG] Uncles and aunties from Johor enjoying taking photos in front of the Crystal Mosque. They came as a group of about 30 elderly visitors by bus.

Just before this group, we also welcomed around 20 elderly visitors from Singapore. For most of them, it was their first time visiting a mosque. We hope their visit here gives them a meaningful experience and beautiful memories to take home.
