2. Basic Pre Hospital Life Support / Basic Pre Hospital Care certificate.
3. Minimum 3 years of working/volunteering in Ambulance.
4. Physically fit.

All positions are part-time and an hourly allowance is paid for successful candidates.

SJ Community Ambulance Subang Jaya's FREE community ambulance providing urgent medical attention for emergencies within the

Support Pours in for Subang Jaya's Community Ambulance

OVER the last 24-hours, support from all across Subang Jaya has poured in to keep one of the townships iconic service - the Subang Jaya Community Ambulance going.

More than RM5,000 has been received from donors from the community who have responded to the appeal for funding via online banking.

Other pledges have also come in for longer term support from the private and corporate sector to provide a lifeline for the ambulance service which has saved many lives in the township.

SJ Beacon, Subang Jaya Community Ambulance acting chairman TH Teoh said members of the non-profit organisation set up primarily to provide medical emergency response were humbled by the support that was coming in from the community.

"Over the last 24-hours, we have been receiving calls and whatsapp messages from all corners of the township. The pledges are coming in to help us sustain this service which has been saving lives over the last 3 years."

"It is no easy task to sustain this service which requires around RM15,000 a month but the gratification is knowing that we are saving lives and making a difference in the community," he said.

Teoh said the service was not out of the woods yet as it needed mid to long term support to keep the ambulance unit going.

"Our unit has been serving the community from Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya and USJ touching lives and saving them as we whizz around the township in response to emergency calls."

"We are glad to see people now coming forward to extend us a lifeline to continue serving them," he added.

梳邦再也社区救护车营运获得支持

被列为城镇标志性服务之一的梳邦再也社区救护车，在过去的24小时内，获得梳邦再也民众与团体的相应支持，资金纷纷涌入，得以维持其正常运作。

在获悉资金短缺的呼吁后，社区的捐助者积极响应了通过网上汇款的便利，总共筹获5,000令吉。

其他的私营机构和企业也承诺为此服务提供握索与长期支援，好让社区救护车服务能够正常运作，继而营救该城镇的更多生命。

梳邦再也社区救护车SJ Beacon代理主席张德峰先生表示，此服务机构乃属非营利组织，其诞生基于此区民众对紧急救护服务的急切须求。

“就过去的24小时内，我们已经收到来自城镇各个角落的电话和whatsapp讯息，承诺将协助我们维持此项在过去三年内成功挽救了许多生命的社区服务。”

他说：“要维持这项服务绝非易事，每月所需经费大约15,000令吉，但令我们欣慰的是此善举让我们得以挽救生命的同时，更为社区提供更好的生活素质。”

张先生意味深长的表示，这项服务还没有走出困境，因为它需要中长期的支援以确保救护车的正常运作。

“我们的单位一直都在为Bandar Sunway，Subang Jaya和USJ提供服务，以感人的生命来挽救生命，接听求救讯息的当儿也奔驰于挽救生命的道路上。”

他补充说：“我们非常高兴人间有爱，感恩民众挺身资助，为我们延长了生命线，继续为他们服务。”

In the Spirit of Caring and Sharing

SUNWAY Medical Centre showed its caring and sharing side for the community on Christmas Eve when it presented 100 boxes of 3-ply face masks to the Subang Jaya Community Ambulance team this morning.

The hospital's Head of Accident and Emergency, and Consultant Emergency Physician, Dr Low Kwai Siong handed over the masks to SJ Beacon operations director Kelvin Chew at the main entrance of the hospital.

"We can all agree that the year has been a trying one but multiple efforts have been made to make it a better one, and we at Sunway Medical Centre would like to further contribute to that by donating 100 boxes of 3-ply face masks to the community ambulance team," he said right after the simple ceremony.

The 3-ply face masks will come in very handy in making sure our community frontliners stay safe while saving lives in Subang Jaya, Kelvin said.

The Subang Jaya Community Ambulance (SJ Beacon) is a free community ambulance service to respond to medical emergencies in the neighbourhood. The ambulance service operates from 8am to 8pm daily and responds to medical emergencies.

The unit constantly requires contributions from the community in donations and in-kind to keep the service running.
