From Sarawak to World Stage, a proud milestone for Sarawak!

Through the GirlsCode Challenge 2025, a program organised by Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) and Realfun Academy, 6 of our teams have successfully progressed from the national level to be shortlisted for the Technovation Challenge International Semi-Finals 2026! Notably, 5 of these teams are from Sarawak who will be representing Malaysia at the global stage.

These teams have turned their creative ideas into impactful digital solutions, proving that Sarawak’s talent is ready to shine on the global map. We are rooting for each and every one of you as you represent Malaysia on the international stage!

SDEC has successfully conducted the Cyber Resilience Workshop, bringing together key stakeholders to strengthen strategic preparedness and advance cyber awareness across the region.

This initiative reflects SDEC’s strategic collaboration with the University of Melbourne and Melbourne Security Associates, aimed at strengthening Sarawak’s cyber resilience through knowledge sharing, capability development, and cybersecurity preparedness.

This interactive workshop brought together key leaders from government agencies and GLCs, the private sector, and academia to exchange insights, strengthen collaboration, and drive a more secure digital future for Sarawak.

We look forward to driving this forward by improving coordination across the cyber resilience ecosystem and strengthening collaboration among stakeholders for a more secure and resilient digital landscape for Sarawak.

SDEC recently welcomed delegates from Virginia Tech, U.S. led by Professor Dr Cyril R. Clarke, Professor Dr Guru Ghosh, and Professor Rolf Mueller.

The engagement, led by Dr Khairul Hafiz Sharkawi, focused on research, innovation, commercialisation, and opportunities to strengthen collaboration in support of Sarawak’s growing digital ecosystem. Discussions also explored potential alignment with the Centre of Excellence for Digital Economy (CoE).

The visit reflects growing international interest in Sarawak’s digital development and innovation ecosystem.
