LMFT COMES TO AID
The Lüderitz Mayoral Fund Trust, in partnership with BICON Namibia and the Alma Marine Trust, has extended financial assistance to young Ms. Catherine Mayumbelo. Ms. Mayumbelo approached the Mayoral Office seeking support to help alleviate the costs associated with her anticipated medical treatment in South Africa. Her Worship, the Mayor, Hon. Cllr. Brigitte I. Fredericks, accompanied by Hon. Cllr. Veno Mununga and Hon. Cllr. Bessly Makaula, officially handed over an amount of N$30,000.00 to Ms. Mayumbelo’s guardian on 11 April 2026. The Mayoral Office further appeals to members of the public and well-wishers to come forward and offer additional support to Ms. Mayumbelo. The Office also extends its sincere gratitude to BICON Namibia and the Alma Marine Trust for their valued partnership and contribution.

MORE BLESSED TO GIVE
Her Worship, the Mayor, Hon. Cllr. Brigitte I. Fredericks, distributed food hampers to five schools on 15 January 2026 at the Council Chambers. Each school received 15 food parcels, bringing the total to 75 hampers. The donations were handed over to Life Skills teachers, who will identify vulnerable learners within their classes as beneficiaries of the food parcels.

AUS SETTLEMENT BENEFITS
Her Worship, the Mayor Hon. Cllr. Brigitte I. Fredericks through the Office of the Mayor - Lüderitz Town Council during the Annual Elder's Food Parcel Handover extended aid to the Aus Settlement. The First Citizen handed over 50 food parcels inclusive of dry foods and fish valued at over N$30 000 to the Settlement on the 29th December 2025. The donation extension is aimed at enhancing food security towards the largely impoverished community.

NO ONE MUST BE LEFT OUT
Her Worship, the Mayor, Hon. Cllr Brigitte Fredericks, through the Office of the Mayor - Lüderitz Town Council and the Lüderitz Town Council Christmas Food Donation Drive, handed over food parcels to persons with disabilities and fish to the old age home and the hospital on 24 December 2025. Present to receive the donations were the hospital’s doctor and matron, as well as the administrator of the disability centre.
