15th OKAHANDJA TOURISM AND TRAFE EXPO 2026 OFFICIALLY OPEN.

The Deputy Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Hon. Evelyn !Nawases - Taeyele delivered a powerful and forward-looking address on the importance of local economic growth and inclusive development during the official opening of the 15th Okahandja Tourism and Trade Expo.

Speaking under the theme “Experience Okahandja: Invest, Trade and Grow,” the Deputy Minister highlighted the critical role of towns like Okahandja in driving Namibia’s economic transformation. “Local authorities are the engines of development. Platforms such as this Expo create the necessary link between government, business, and communities to unlock opportunities, stimulate investment, and empower our people,” the Deputy Minister emphasised.

The Deputy Minister further commended the Municipality of Okahandja for its continued commitment to promoting trade, tourism, and entrepreneurship, noting that such initiatives contribute meaningfully to job creation and sustainable urban development.

Stakeholders, exhibitors, and the public are encouraged to take full advantage of this platform to connect, collaborate, and build a stronger, more resilient local economy.

OFFICIAL OPENING | The 15th Okahandja Tourism and Trade Expo 2026 has officially been declared open, marking another proud moment in showcasing the town’s economic potential and vibrant community spirit.

Under the theme “Experience Okahandja: Invest, Trade and Grow,” the Mayor of Okahandja, Hon. Cllr. Ilena Mutumbulwa delivered the welcoming remarks, emphasizing the Expo’s role as a catalyst for economic development, investment, and entrepreneurship. “This Expo reflects the resilience, innovation, and determination of the people of Okahandja. It is a space where ideas meet opportunity and where our local economy is given the spotlight it deserves,” She noted.

The Mayor further reaffirmed the Municipality’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for business and tourism, calling on all stakeholders to work together in building “the Okahandja we envision — a thriving, inclusive and economically empowered town.”
