Omusati Regional Council was established by the Regional Councils Act, No. 22 of 1992.

Omusati Regional Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Health & Social Services, Walvis Bay Corridor, Project Hope & One Economy Foundation are having a community outreach programme at Tsandi Village Council Chairperson's Cup. The 4 days(22-25 May '26) programme aims at raising awareness on the danger of HIV/AIDS, Malaria, TB & other dangerous diseases.
