UPDATE ON PROJECT PROGRESS OF THE UPGRADE OF THE GRAVEL ROAD TO BITUMEN STANDARD AT EXT.5 ( ONHIMBU)
The Outapi Town Council is pleased to inform residents that significant progress has been made on the road upgrade project in Ext. 5.
The contractor has successfully completed the layer works, including the preparation and compaction of all road layers, which form critical part of the road construction process.
The project now moves into the next phase, which will include the application of the prime coat, bituminous surfacing, kerbing and placement of road furniture, including road signs and other safety features.
The project remains on schedule, and practical completion is still expected on 24 June 2026.
Council appreciates the patience, cooperation, and understanding of residents during the construction period. We remain committed to improving our road infrastructure and enhancing accessibility, safety, and mobility within our town.

PUBLIC UPDATE: ROAD MAINTENANCE AND SPEEDHUMP CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
The Outapi Town Council hereby informs residents and the general public that, in addition to the ongoing road maintenance project, Andjamba Construction CC has also been appointed for the filling of potholes on various roads within the town, as well as the construction of two (2) speed humps along Nathanael Maxwilili Street, at a total project cost of N$164,232.39.
The construction of the speed humps follows the increasing number of road accidents occurring along Nathanael Maxwilili Street, which have resulted in damage to property and posed risks to public safety. The project also responds to recommendations and concerns raised by residents during public consultation meetings regarding the need for traffic calming measures in the area.
The project is currently underway and is expected to be completed by 30 June 2026.
Council urges all residents and road users to adhere to road signage, exercise caution, and make use of alternative routes where necessary, as guided during the construction period, to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
The Outapi Town Council appreciates the continued support, feedback, and cooperation from residents and remains committed to working together with the community towards the sustainable development and safety of the town.

The Outapi Town Council hereby informs residents that Andjamba Construction CC has been appointed to carry out the re-graveling of roads in Outapi, Ext. 7, (OB David)
• Project Value: N$ 561,197.20
• Commenced Date: 18 May 2026
• Estimated Completion Date: 30 June 2026
This initiative reflects Council’s ongoing commitment to enhancing road infrastructure in the town, particularly in response to roads damage sustained during rainy seasons.
Residents are kindly reminded to observe all road signs and traffic instructions at the construction sites. These measures are vital to safeguard motorists, pedestrians, and construction teams, while ensuring the works are completed efficiently.
