Today, I joined the faithful at the Government House Chapel for Sunday Mass, where we gathered in prayer, thanksgiving, and reflection.

As we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, we are reminded of the power of the Holy Spirit to renew our hearts, strengthen our faith, and unite us in love and service to humanity. May the fire of Pentecost continue to guide our homes, our state, and our nation toward peace, wisdom, and progress.

I deeply appreciate the Chaplain of the Government House Chapel, Rev. Fr. Jude Agama, for his inspiring homily and spiritual guidance. I also thank everyone who came to worship with us today. Your presence and prayers continue to strengthen our shared faith and unity.

Wishing all Christians in Ebonyi State and beyond a blessed and spirit-filled Pentecost celebration.

Today, as we commemorate the International Day to End Obstetric Fistula with the theme, *“Her Health is A Right: Invest in Ending Fistula and Childbirth Injuries,”* we are reminded of the urgent need to protect the dignity, health, and wellbeing of women and girls.

Obstetric fistula remains a painful reality for many women, often resulting from prolonged obstructed labour and limited access to quality maternal healthcare. No woman should suffer preventable childbirth injuries in silence, and every woman deserves access to safe and quality healthcare services.

Through BERWO Foundation, we have remained committed to restoring hope and dignity to women affected by obstetric fistula. In partnership with the National Obstetric Fistula Centre (NOFIC), Abakaliki, BERWO Foundation has supported affected women through free medical consultations, free corrective surgeries, feeding, vocational training, and the provision of ₦200,000 start-up capital each to 60 women to help them rebuild their lives and regain economic independence.

This initiative reflects our unwavering commitment to ensuring that women not only receive medical care but are also empowered to reintegrate confidently into society.

As we mark this important day, I call on all stakeholders to continue investing in maternal healthcare, girl-child education, and women empowerment to end obstetric fistula and childbirth injuries.

Together, we can give every woman the chance to live with dignity, hope, and good health.
