EBONYI STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY PASSES NEW EXECUTIVE BILL INTO LAW TO ESTABLISH EBONYI STATE RURAL ACCESS ROADS AUTHORITY

The Ebonyi State House of Assembly has passed into law an executive bill to establish Ebonyi State Rural Access Roads Authority.

The bill which was presented to the House by the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State His Excellency Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru was read to the floor by the Honourable Speaker of the 7th Assembly, Rt. Honourable Moses Ijeh Odunwa.

Explaining the importance of the bill to the economic growth and development of the state, the leader of the House, Rt. Honourable Kingsley Ogbonna Ikoro described the bill as apt and a veritable tool to enhance easy Rural-Urban transportation of the people's farm products.

Contributing to the passage of the bill, Honourable Barr. Nwodo Aloysius Nwodo among other Honourable members who lent their voice of support for the bill exhaustively explained the bill as timely and apt considering the suffering of their various constituents as a result of bad and unaccessible rural roads.
Hon. Nwodo further hinted that if rural roads were normally fixed, other developments would follow suit and therefore urged his colleagues to support the passage of the bill without reservation.

After thorough work in the bill during the committee of the whole in the house, the Speaker through the voice votes of members of the house passed the bill into law.
