OFFICIAL INAUGURATION AND RANKING OF NEWLY PROMOTED AND APPOINTED NATIONAL OFFICERS OF MAN O’ WAR NIGERIA

The National Commander of Man O’ War Nigeria has officially inaugurated and decorated the newly promoted and appointed senior officers. The event, which was held at the Directorate Headquarters, marks a significant milestone in the organization’s ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery, leadership, and community impact.

In his address, the Director General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC), ably represented by the Director of Finance, commended the long-standing commitment of the senior officers. He emphasized that the newly appointed National and Regional Officers were selected based on their proven knowledge, character, and dedication to service, stressing that their elevation is a call to greater responsibility.

The National Commander, NC Adedamola Gbenga MIPM, MSS, MSR, also expressed appreciation to the outgoing, reappointed, appointed and newly promoted officers. He charged them to be shining representatives of Man O’ War Nigeria and to contribute actively to the growth of the organization and the betterment of society. According to him, “Man O’ War Nigeria is a community builder, and every officer must embrace this responsibility with pride and commitment.”

As part of the workshop, the officers were officially inauguratory and decorated to begin their four-year tenure. The National Commander reminded them that their leadership would play a crucial role in advancing the mandate of Man O’ War Nigeria, calling for diligence, proactiveness, and integrity.

In her congratulatory message, the Director General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Ms. Rinsola Abiola, applauded the contributions of Man O’ War to national development.

MAN O’ WAR NIGERIA HIGHLIGHTS VOLUNTEERISM IN SAFE SCHOOL IMPLEMENTATION AT 3RD NATIONAL CAMPING EXERCISE

The ongoing 3rd National Camping Exercise of Man O’ War Nigeria, holding in the city of Port Harcourt, featured a thought-provoking paper presentation on “Common Threats and Security Risks in Nigerian Schools: Case Studies and Response.” The lecture was delivered by ACC Rabiu I. Muhammad, Commander, NSCDC National Safe School Response Coordination Centre (NSSRCC), NHQ Abuja, and ably represented by Koko Reginald Ph.D of NSCDC Rivers State Safe School Response Coordination Centre.

In his presentation, the resource person emphasized that volunteers play a vital role in enhancing the safety, security, and overall well-being of students, staff, and the school environment. He noted that volunteers are not merely helpers but vital community partners in ensuring that schools remain secure learning spaces. Their involvement, he said, is driven by a commitment to protecting the right of every child to learn without fear.

Highlighting the role of Man O’ War Nigeria in educational security, the speaker stressed that the organization can make significant contributions in various ways. He recalled that the Safe School Initiative was launched in 2015 and endorsed by Nigeria in 2019 as an international commitment to protect students, teachers, schools, and universities during armed conflicts. The initiative also promotes the continuation of education in times of crisis, recognizing education as a fundamental right and schools as sanctuaries where children can learn, grow, and thrive without fear.

He further explained that one of the core commitments of the Safe Schools framework is adopting a kinetic approach, actively taking measures to prevent, deter, and respond to potential threats to educational environments.
